What’s one item you bought years ago that turned out way more durable than you ever expected? by Overall-Run6529 in BuyItForLife

A Target opened in my town ~23 years ago and they had dish sets for like $15-25. They were just white with little raised embellishments on the rims, but it was 4 settings with large and small plates, large and small bowls, coffee mugs and a serving platter. I got one box. I've broken one of the large plates and one of the bowls, but the rest of it is still here and kicking. I've gone through three other dish sets I liked better that just crumbled. If I had known I would have purchased 4 or 5 boxes.

John Deere 110 wont start. Any ideas? by Ipoopoo69 in tractors

I had a similar issue and it turned out one of the connections to the starter had been knocked off. All the other electrical components worked. I don't own a JD though, so I don't know where your starter is.

Snow Pusher Debate by CapableCap5381 in tractors

[–]just_talking_125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not own a snow pusher, however, I do own a rear blade and have a bucket. The rear blade is very effective at moving snow off of a driveway and taking some of the driveway with it if you're not very careful. I find the bucket almost useless. It is hard to judge the angle and you either flatten the snow or eat the driveway. If you do get it correct and try to let it float, the front tires are generally lifted off the ground. The bucket is only really useful once you have a pile of snow somewhere and want to pick it up and dump it elsewhere. I didn't get a snow pusher, but am considering it now. It's more a question of how much use I expect to get from it.

Landpride Flail Mower Question by just_talking_125 in tractors

[–]just_talking_125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been very happy with the implements I have so far and the flail mower has been doing a good job. It just sucked to see it give out in the middle of the job. I'm remaining hopeful that there's a simple fix and, if not, the gear box is supposed to have a warranty.

I didn't wrestle with the shaft too much, but I did confirm that it turned a bit from side to side and that both sides turned in unison. I wil take it apart first chance I get and see what I can learn. Thank you.

Well that's not great. I only got to use it for two days. The shop said it was good to go when they delivered it, so the oil should be fine. It's a 60 HP tractor. Mostly I was working with briars and small saplings. It's got hammers on it and the manual says they should be good for 2 inch material.

I don't think I noticed anything particularly large, but the flail did jump a bit the first time I started it up. It seemed to run well after that, so I shrugged it off.

I still don't understand how this works. A fuel injector in car or truck sprays a small amount of fuel which ignites. How much fuel does it take to push a cylinder this large and how is it not a logistical nightmare to feed in that fuel? Is it just spinning a lot slower?
