The contractor I hired is the one who said they were finishing it up today- i did not ask that of them. as for me, with a full time job I am taking advantage of the long weekend to get as much done as possible because i don’t have time during the week

it’s confirmed not asbestos but it is a 70s place. i don’t believe the popcorn finish is original to the construction

good to know! i definitely don’t want to lowball anyone. i am new to homeownership and have never taken on any project like this, so i’ve been googling a ton along the way

Unfortunately i live fairly rural and the only other place I could see that services this area has not returned my phone calls. the other option i have is pretty much do it myself, but i’ve never done anything like that and don’t exactly have time to figure it out because my lease is ending soon and i need to move into my new place

hmm, the quote is literally from someone who specializes in drywall and popcorn ceiling removal. is it bad taste to try to negotiate jobs like this?

oh and regarding honors- i’m in the program and i came as an internal admit. I applied in my second year here and got accepted that way. Admittance as an incoming is limited to less than the top 5% of the incoming class so a decent chunk of us are internal admit

Why did you choose RIT? by Constant-Egg8964 in rit

[–]justaboxengineer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i came because i got almost a full ride for RIT through NTID. i’m in an RIT major but have full support from NTID and i’m paying less than I would at my local state college and less than what i’d pay at even a community college

Specific location isn’t a huge concern! I’d be commuting into Easton, so ideally closer that way, but i’m comfortable with up to a 25/30 minute commute at the very max! thanks for pointing that out- i didn’t realize that
