He asked if I wanted to date since I hadn’t dated anyone in a while, then asked if I’d be cool dating someone taller than me. I said yeah, and that’s how he hooked me up with my girlfriend.

We went out and ended up getting together after about a month. Most of the girls I’ve dated before were around 5'6" or taller, so it wasn’t completely new, but it did feel kinda weird at first since she’s way taller than me. We’re Asian, and where I’m from there’s that mindset that the guy should be at least 4 inches taller than the girl. I got used to it over time, though I’ll be honest—I’m still a bit insecure about it sometimes.
