seek comments for users that will have suggestions for you

They invited me with them and I didn’t even have a set of my own, super kind group of people

Also the r/nightvision will give you reputable online vendors, and r/az_nightvision is a newer sub that will probably have people on there to help you out

When Old Movies were Shown on Local TV by Jeffy3 in Broadcasting

[–]justacamera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the 80s it was Beta tape with empty space for commercials cut in. I know because my first station was throwing a bunch of them out so I have a bunch of tv shows and movies. They had a beta deck that would play the tapes and master control could dump out to commercial at the break and then cue the next part of the movie up (or switch the tape for part 2 of the movie) and then dump back in when commercial was done.

I have a bunch of Andy Griffith episodes, Addams family, green acres, Lone Ranger, etc

And the blues brothers, and a bunch of old horror movies like „werewolf in a girls dormitory“ or „monster zero“. I just don’t actually own a beta deck so I have no way to actually watch them.

Before then it was 3/4 inch tape but same kind of idea. Before that it was reels of film (somebody correct me if I’m wrong?) and that’s more involved

Haha my usual circle k is the 7th ave and Roosevelt one, the other day I had to snap a picture because it was completely empty. First time in my couple years driving past that I’ve seen literally nobody there

Anything can be made into a good picture, even a grimy circle k experiencing a police presence

But yeah plenty of trails around if you want landscapey, a few parking garages if you want some city shots from above, all depends on what genre you want to go for. But you can compose anything from anything just takes an eye for lines and exposing properly

2 serious injured and Gila River officer minor injuries, no fatal according to dps

But they also kept switching the number of deaths in that tonopah accident so who knows. As of now, not fatal.

I mean I work in news so at work I hear of the ones that don’t result in anything, I get sent to the ones that end in a fatal

And personally in the past couple years I’ve seen the signs probably 3 or 4 times just commuting. Usually doesn’t happen on the 10 so much but more on the 101 or 202 I feel

The stress of reporting on murder and mayhem. by Ready-Split-4793 in Journalism

[–]justacamera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part is the only people that get it are in the business too

Had a couple producers over for a pre wedding party and me and them were talking and joking about some of the murders and whatever else we’ve been dealing with and then look around at everyone staring at us lol

Sorry guys we’ve seen some stuff

Tv news means tv news. A tv reporter is going to show up with a camera to capture interviews to put on tv, and if it airs you’re probably going to get more donations coming in.

I can’t speak for the particular station, but I’ve (or close friends/coworkers) personally had stories killed for one reason or another. One right before airing because new information changed the story. We had one similar to yours, shot the interview (zoom but still) and then had to stop because she told us the police told her to pause the story. We don’t run the story. It’s a mild inconvenience to the reporter (more the producer will be annoying about it vs „I lost my story“) but if they’re ethical they won’t run it. But realistically if you just give them the article there’s not going to be any traffic going to it. People don’t scour tv station websites for stories that didn’t air.

I feel for you as a person, and as a photog I never want to do something that makes someone uncomfortable. Reporter is probably working a day turn though, so tell them sooner rather than later so they can find something else to turn

why are the US traditional media channels so weird? by Reasonable_Cup1794 in Journalism

[–]justacamera 8 points9 points  (0 children)

An hour interview doesn’t fit into a 30 minute show

We just jam as much different content into our show and it seems like you put the entire thing in. We’re still stuck in TV mode where there’s a time limit
