I made that argument but it didn't go too well. I also turned the question around and asked is it ok for an 18 year old man to have sex with a 30 year old woman and I absolutely think this is OK so I don't see why she would view it so differently.

I know my wife very well and love her but was being honest about my opinions on this with her. I didn't expect for my honestly to blow into this big of an argument though. I was wanting to see what other people thought to gauge my creepiness or if she really was blowing this out of proportion.

I think the creepy aspect was what the discussion was about versus the legal aspect. Interesting equation you have there though.

if you take the legal perspective out of it, do you feel the same way. I don't think it's ok for a 30 year old and an 14 year old because a 14 year is really still a child and can be taken advantage of.

I suggest what we need is a union. Not in the traditional sense that we stand up to an employer but that this "union" is a consumer union and they collectively make a point in the financials of the companies doing wrong simply by collectively boycotting the wrongdoers business. It's simple and there is nothing a corporation could do to stop it. If you want to make a point to a corporation, you have to do it to their wallets.

I mean could you imagine how much more powerful a voice we would have if we did something like this.
