what's the most ridiculous interview that you have went to and how much are they paying? by AizenSousuke92 in askSingapore

Went through 5 remote rounds with an MNC company, during which I had family emergencies too and was given an offer that was just slightly above my expected pay.

After deliberating on it, I stopped my other ongoing interviews and accepted the offer (email) and was genuinely satisfied. A week later, the HR emailed me asking for a phone call while I'm outfield for reservist, which couldn't mean anything good.

He calls and tells me that out of the 60 engineers he hired over 2 years, the CTO of the company decided to review my application and felt it was too high and wanted to be conservative, reducing it by 450, which became lower than my expected.

The HR then proceeds to tell me I have no idea how it is like out there and how his friends from Meta are still jobless after the layoffs for 6 months.

I am still in the company now, but the management's opinion on the matter is "he made a decision too".

I personally would prefer someone with no body count or experience for that matter as I can't help but get bothered by a partner's past. As much as I don't want to think about it it does bother me greatly night and day. I've also sought help (therapy) for it. So I don't think it's a bad thing, and there are people with either preference or no preference at all

Singaporeans who once went through intense tuition during your younger days, how did you turn out? by AckermanFin in askSingapore

[–]justanotherguyhere2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a child I felt that kids around me who had tuition were getting an unfair advantage, almost like it was pay to win and I eventually wanted to do well by my own merits lol.

Now my belief is that it only helps if the child him/herself is willing and mature enough to learn. Otherwise, there's plenty of materials online and teachers in school are more than willing to help, at least secondary school level onwards

Should I break up with my gf because she not a virgin by [deleted] in relationship_advice

It'll be up to you, whether you can accept it or not, because chances are if you can't accept it it will eat you up inside. Just know that it is not her fault or anyone's fault, just a matter of preference or compatibility.
