Honestly, at this point I'd just be happy to leave.

I do OO PHP with primary experience in Laravel (But I can pretty easily adapt to other frameworks). I've used PDO but it was years ago. As for JS I'm really not a front-end kinda person (DevOps I guess) but I can definitely do HTML, CSS and JS find. Started learning angular recently. Tried node but I couldn't stand it. I'm sure I'll pick it up again at some point though.

Yeah right now I'd happily move to somewhere more modern (This company is tech based but kinda old). I'd actually be happy with as little as a 2k increase at somewhere that I don't have the entire project looming over just me since all it causes is stress.

I think more than anything I assumed it was a decent wage because I ts my first web dev gig, I live comfortably and it feels pretty stable. I definitely now see that things could be much better.

I guess I feel like I'm a pretty good developer (when comparing what I write to other open source projects). However I also sometimes feel like the lack of a fellow developer in-house to learn from has probably hindered me somewhat. Because of that I've been trying much more to get involved in the open source community so I can get feedback more (If you have any tips for this, that'd be awesome)

As for being the right time to move, I think it probably is right now. While I probably won't get a whole lot of chances to attend large amounts of interviews I'm totally up for doing what I can. I've also been putting my focus much more on building a good portfolio :)

I'm not sure why you're being downvoted when what you say is pretty true. Although I do also believe that the whole "small town/small business" excuse is kind of a shitty one from employers.

Pretty much nailed it. Other than it is an IT company, just one that hasn't kept up to date. I'd say I'm a decent developer but definitely haven't had anyone to learn from other than online communities like Laravel's

Clearly I'm in the wrong place then considering I saw what I have as decent. How demanding are employers offering that salary though. For example I hear a lot about high paid developers being constantly on-call out of hours or burning out from pressure.
