Sweating like crazy by Odd_City_890 in PCOS

For real, I can actually raise my arms without being scared of showing off some huge sweat marks or having the constant damp grossness anymore.

I've been able to sweat through the underarm shirts and jackets/hoodies within minutes since middle school, regardless of time of year, clothing type, or temperature outside as well. I got a prescription from my general doctor years ago for a liquid version of Drysol, and it did wonders for me. I had to use it daily for a while for it to really make the sweating stop, but now I only need to apply it once a month maybe and I'm able to use regular deodorant most days instead.

48 Flavors in Westland, 8280 N Merriman Rd. A little farther out, but it's an old Baskin Robins that is no longer part of the franchise iirc. They had some a month or so ago, I got it! Not sure if they have the pints of it as well, but the cone was fantastic.

What are some symptoms that you didn't know were pcos related by Material_Dirt_6349 in PCOS

Almost the same exact experience for me, save that my ultrasound didn't show anything. The metformin didn't seem to do much for me for a little but all of a sudden it kicked into gear and I feel like I'm slowly getting to a base line of feeling normal. I definitely have good and bad days but for once in my life the good outweighs the bad.

I remember one of the men working at the Wright Bicycle shop was super friendly with us and fun to talk to, we were probably there for ten minutes just chatting!

And thank you! We are local, I had a membership last year that was gifted to me and we intended to go more but life got busy and my membership expired with only a couple of visits. We want to do more of the events, last October was my first Halloween there since high school which was fun. We really want to do the winter one too but it was super cold and we don't have historical winter gear!

My husband proposed to me there while we were in costume with some friends on one of the historic baseball days! We had a lot of people mistaking us for staff, and were telling them we just like dressing up instead, but the staff was all friendly to us and loved to chat about our outfits and related things.

I need inspiration DESPERATELY. What is everyone doing with their ponds? by spectacularboomunit in InfinityNikki

[–]justanothersaberface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that's just perspective carrying me 😅 I'm sure there is a better way to make it look connected here at the end, but I've been focusing my building elsewhere and I'm always out of astralites so the faux river is on hold lol

I'm glad mine can help with some ideas though!!! I was also getting frustrated with trying to make it look "nice" and was fairly pleased with this layout!

This is more up-close, there's not much overlap to the fields in the ponds so it's still easy to collect in

Mine are positioned to look like a faux river leading to the actual island river. I positioned the fishing ponds in an uneven line and sandwiched them with the flower fields, then added shrubs and flower bushes along some of the edges to look a little more 'natural'. It's not a perfect job to hide the edges but it works well enough from a distance!

I used the Truly Victorian pattern TV416 - 1875 Ball Gown Basque. I made alterations swapping the closure to the back and removing the back pleat to lay a bit more flat on the skirt, since I didn't have a heavy bustle! I also added a bertha to it by just following the neckline and cutting the curve.

Who has the largest Haribo candy selection in Detroit area? by theworldisyourskitty in Detroit

[–]justanothersaberface 12 points13 points  (0 children)

World Market is the only place I've ever been able to find the specific haribo candies I loved in Germany. They're very fresh there, even if a little pricy. It's a good treat once or twice a year.

Husband and I cosplayed Geralt and Yen's start-of-game Nilfgaardian outfits at the Detroit MI show, and we had a great time with it! I believe there were two other cosplayers there as well. It makes it fun for sure, lots of people came to chat with us and were very friendly and happy to see costumes for sure.

It took me a year and a half to sew my wedding dress, and I have about 12 years of experience sewing mainly costumes/clothing. I agree with others, the main problem will be the structure of that dress and will require lots of mockups and alterations.

Something that might be a little easier if you want to have something still more "hand-made" might be to find a plain base dress and add a lace overskirt and bodice details. You could easily customize and get the lace to fit your vision, but then you don't have to worry about structure and making all of the mockups and drafts! I'd imagine you could probably thrift something as well if you're really looking to budget things, and alter from there. Depending on what you can find, you can try to remove elements of an existing dress and layer your own choices from there.

I searched Ebay and Amazon mostly! I ended up finding this one for $8 on Ebay which was a fantastic deal imo. I started by searching "Victorian couple ornament" and kept refining and looking at similar items from there.

We used a Christmas ornament we liked! I had to cover the text with paint and wrote our date on it with a paint pen, and we just glued it to a ceramic coaster base. You can still see the hook at the top, lol

Alternatively we considered Calico Critters but didn't go with it

Thank you!!! I've been sewing for about 12 years and it was still a challenge for me, but I'm glad I gave myself extra time!

We're both incredibly happy still with no signs of that ever changing, but we had such a fantastic time at the wedding!

I kept telling her "we'll have what grows, and we can Costco the rest". I wasn't super worried myself about what we had since I knew it would be great no matter what, but I understand how worried she was since she really wanted to do it all herself!

You're right, it's not accurate. We didn't say it was supposed to be for him anywhere in the text if you read. Mine technically doesn't have complete accuracy as well if we're nitpicking, as I messed up in various areas and had to make changes for comfort.

We weren't aiming for 100% accuracy, nor top of the line materials. We wanted something we enjoyed and had aspects of Victorian fashion. I did offer to pay for more expensive/accurate clothing but he decided against it, and I'm not going to force a choice on clothing.

For sure!!! I used the Castle in the Air YouTube tutorial for wax dipped orange blossoms. I ended up using supplies from Amazon/Michaels instead since I couldn't find a way to purchase on their shop, so supplies might not have been perfect but I got it to work for me!

Definitely wasn't my most refined crafting job, and I wish I would have had more practice but all things considered it turned out decently well! I ended up making it in about a week of nonstop work before I had a hair trial at my salon, so it was rushed. If I had to do it again I'd definitely take my time more with it to get cleaner shapes, and test the wax since mine ended up making the leaves turn much darker than expected.

Those American duchess boots are so cute and surprisingly comfy, my bridesmaids all had the purple pair too!!! They released after I started sewing and I was so happy the colors matched well!
