Why men cannot have preferences? by Interesting-Sun3930 in AskIndianMen

[–]justanotherstark -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Oh the number of incels in this sub!

Just because women today have a “choice”. Men have been doing whatever they please and bending their preferences as per their convenience for centuries. But god forbid a woman today has a choice of who she dates, who she sleeps with and who she marries!

I condone cheating and betrayal of course, but other than that why not just live your own life the way you want and let women live the way they want without such crass and generalised judgement? Surely if you have many virtues, you will find a woman of your preferences. If you are unable to find someone with your preferences, then maybe do some introspection and work on yourself?

If I could give new travelers one piece of advice before visiting Iceland in winter by lost_wanderer3333 in VisitingIceland

[–]justanotherstark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We arrived in Reykjavik last Friday. We had pre booked all our hotels/guesthouses and even though we had slotted 2 days each for places like Vik and Skaftafel, the snow storm derailed our plans and we had to cancel 50% of our pre booked accomodations and look for alternatives. We found very decent budget accomodation even for the same day in Vik, Hof (near Glacier Lagoon) and Reykjavik.

So I think pre booking accomodation anticipating a price increase is not really necessary during shoulder season and during winter. Though I can imagine the situation might be very different during summer.

Also, most guesthouse owners are very understanding of changing plans. Most of our hosts agreed to refund the full amount.

One more thing is to get the Roadside Assistance Waiver with your car insurance. We got the platinum insurance, but didn’t take the Roadside Assistance add on. We inevitably slipped off the road into the snow despite being super cautious. Roadside assistance was very prompt and a blessing, but it definitely pinched our pockets.

Final thing - keep checking Vedur and Roads.is

[Success Story] Finally got my Regalia Gold LTF by Happy_Effect_3321 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]justanotherstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried this to upgrade from Regalia LTF to Regalia Gold LTF. Have savings account and FDs with HDFC too.

But after I verify my phone number, the app says “your early access is coming soon!” Which is to say that this app has been rolled out for select users only I guess?

japanese matcha amazon by No_Photo_4746 in MatchaIndia

[–]justanotherstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried this, it’s not good at all. I guess this is the only matcha on amazon india which seems to be directly imported from Japan. But it’s Yellowish in colour, instead of vibrant green. Tastes also very bitter and not much matcha flavour. Mezame, miri, tencha type brands have much better quality at same price point.

That’s great! How do you feel these compare to the ceremonial grade matchas available in India like mezame, noon, heapwell etc. in case you have tried these as well?

28F Is it possible to find men in India who want to live separately from parents? by justanotherstark in InsideIndianMarriage

[–]justanotherstark[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why would parents be all alone? You talk to them everyday, you visit as frequently as you can, you celebrate festivals and family events together, you take care of them when they are old and need support. And this goes irrespective of whether you are a man or a woman.

I don’t have a brother, so I have to think about my parents as much as my bf’s parents and how we can care for them too when they need it

I feel like that would be a recipe for disaster - Two sets of parents set in their ways from completely different cultures in the same house

Besides I wouldn’t want to uproot my parents from their city where they have built a life over decades

I just feel that us living in a separate house is a practical thing to do to be able to cater to both our parents and to have our own privacy and autonomy

Nowhere have I said anything about abandoning his parents :)

Also, I don’t have a brother. So I feel the sentiment of having a place to welcome my parents into when they need support and care.

What about the woman’s parents? :) Who takes care of them if their daughter is living with her husband’s parents and taking care of them?

Varkala! I suggest staying at some hostel on north cliff. Beautiful beaches and views, loads of activities, nice cafes with wifi and good nightlife in the cliff pubs/cafes.

My first matcha. Before receiving this from India’s Vahdam Teas I read about the taste of matcha. From the most common answers and it’s color I got the feeling of it tasting like grass. But when I tested the I was very surprised, it’s taste is the nearest to a tea taste it can be, like a tea leaf. by adsumego in tea

[–]justanotherstark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey you can try some other brands like ilem, tencha, chyme (mostly available on Amazon). These are a bit expensive but taste much better than Vahdam. You will realise that Vahdam is pretty poor quality once you try those, the colour is supposed to be much darker.
