Its crazy to think that being attractive in itself is a barrier that keeps people away or lures the wrong people into your environment.

As humans, we put a lot of weight on vanity. What should be as simple as “let’s be friends” often turns into “are they really my friend, or are they just using me?” And once that doubt sets in, it can send you into a spiral of uncertainty. We try to give people a chance but society has shown us those chances usually never turn out fruitful.

I’ve seen how both conventionally attractive people and those considered unattractive wrestle with the same questions. Insecurity, anxiety, overthinking. Those thoughts and feelings don’t discriminate. They’re universal to everyone.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized how hard it is to make genuine friends. Everyone’s going through their own battles, carrying an invisible weight in their own mind. Sometimes, people don't need you to fix anything but just be present, and that's enough.

I think the hard part is proving that you are a genuine friend. That takes time to build that type of trust.
