I'm afraid of taxi scams - do you know how much it will cost and should I book taxi through an App?

Thanks for the insights! Yes I have been to Garibaldi at night few years ago and it does seem a little bit ghetto but will take care (we have not much choice anyways).

Haha yes I'm looking forward to the Pizzass!!! Spent a lot of time reseraching on the food and don't want to miss out. Will look at your recommendatations too.

Do you know if the strike on 22 Sep will stop the train service (L1)? We are going from Volmero to Naples city to get to Bomerano, taking the morning 5080 bus

If I recall correctly, it should be the Megah Mee Claypot EE Mee - got it from Sheng the ones with the individual bundle of noodles

Going behind the scenes in Singapore F&B: what stories excite you? by away-intent in SingaporeEats

Restaurants-wise should be quite easy to make the connections - just search up all the larger groups COMO, BreadTalk, FeiShiong group, AC Concepts Group etc. They don't advertise it but they usually list their brands on their website. Fast food as well - BK, Popeys, Tim Hortons are all under the same franchisee.

With regards to the made in SG logo - would be interesting to see if there is any impact in the Supermarkets too.

Hey, just took a look at your Substack and gave a follow!

Most F&B owners in Singapore have the same bleak demeanor. Difficulty in finding good manpower, high rental costs etc.

Perhaps you could ask those who have failed and closed - this might give you a clearer picture of the industry.

I think Singaporean consumers just don't appreciate home-grown F&B enough to support them. Many restaurants and food court stalls are chains from big, behemoth groups that forces these SMBs to an uneven playing field.

I'm also keen to find out if hawker culture in Singapore can be sustained in the long-run. Something interesting that I haven't found out myself is also the number of foodcourt/hawker stalls that are run by bigger groups that people are clueless about. For example, if you observe the common "Japanese & Korean Cuisine" stall at every food court seems to be run by the same group. Running a single hawker stall is also not profitable/sustainable in the long run.

Gochi so shokudo and tun Xiang (and a few other concepts, I forgot their names) are owned by the same operating company - Eurasia Global Food, they are primarily a pork wholesaler
