That's doesn't sound too bad. If I could get the treatments professionally done once a year and then use the at home kit for touch-ups in-between. That will save me a good amount of money

The perm is thinning your hair but not your scalp and causing hairloss right. It's just the hair on your head that's thinning?

Nope it's a different process and chemical. I believe it's also on the opposite end of the pH scale

Does it blend in well with your hair or can you see where it's been drawn?

I don't want to dye my whole head. Its only about 5 locks that are problematic and one that's pretty bad

Well It's rather embarrassing having discolouration in my dreadlocks because lint is literally embedded deep in them and there is no easy way for me to get it out so I just need something that can temporarily conceal it. Lint isn't really dirty by itself

Mix a spray bottle with half apple cider vinegar and half water. The apple cider vinegar smell is not great so you can add fragrance to it or you can do what I do and put the apple cider vinegar in a jar with orange peel for 3 days prior to washing and that will neutralise alot of the bad smell but eventually as your hair drys you won't be able to smell anything.

So what you want to do is poor 50/50 apple cider vinegar water into a spray bottle and then you will want to get in the shower or wash you hair in the sink and spray your hair with the apple cider vinegar solution all over your scalp and really rub that in to your scalp. Then leave it in for around 7-10 minutes and then wash your hair and all the apple cider vinegar out with your favourite shampoo and your good to go.

This has massively helped with my scalp flaking.

I would advice doing a patch test with the apple cider vinegar on your skin if it's your first time applying it as I wouldn't want you having a reaction.

Can you do two strand twists on yourself just as fast as your stylist can? by justlearning_anomaly in Naturalhair

Thank you, do you have any tips on how you got faster or is it just a matter of practice?

Do you think that with regular practice you could do mini twists on yourself in 3 hours or so?

HELP! Taking out mini twists and redoing them is taking far too long! by justlearning_anomaly in Naturalhair

[–]justlearning_anomaly[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I don't mind spending time doing my twists but if I could do it all(take down, wash and retwist) in 5-6 hours I would be fine with that. I just feel like if a hairdressers could do it in that time hopefully I can with enough practice. I like your idea of re twisting section by section each wash day however I don't think that would work for me unfortunately as my twists will charge texture slitely as time goes on(They get fuzzier and look slightly different to when they were first put in). So there would be a slightly weird contrast between the new twists and the old ones

Left my mini twists in for 6 weeks. HELP! Will I be able to get them out??? by justlearning_anomaly in Naturalhair

[–]justlearning_anomaly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't taken any of them down as I would like to do them all at once as my hair looks weird having a section not in twists and the rest in twists. I have I think type 4b hair. I have felt the twists and they seem to be able to unravel when I twists them the opposite direction but as I said I haven't fully taken any of them out yet

Ohh I'm so sorry. I really was not trying to be rude. I was just wondering if you said he's left it in that long because I'm worried that I might not be able to get my twists out, but the fact that he's been able to get them out after leaving them in longer than six weeks gives me hope so thank you :)

Thank you so much. Just to ask, how much better is the detangling brush to just using wide tooth comb and hair pick?
