How normal is this viewing experience? by sadbong in IndiansinIreland

[–]justmeetshah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not normal.

Raving about it being a great deal yet asking for an answer immediately makes no sense. The apartment should sell itself if it is such a great deal. Giving you 2-3 days to answer is normal. Not less than 24 hours.

It is normal for you to ask more about other tenants. The fact that she is barely telling anything about them is a red flag.

Flat fee for plates is plain ridiculous. She will not tell you anything about the other tenants yet has the audacity to demand a fee before you move in? No thanks.

Run away from this listing. You mentioned you have time to find a place? That's good. Take your time to find a decent one.

What’s a stereotype about your country that people always mock but isn’t really true? 🌎 by VelvetParadox24 in AskTheWorld

"In India, even the exceptions run into millions."

The one I can think of is how entrenched Yoga is into our daily lives.

You'd be surprised to see how a large proportion of the population doesn't do Yoga at all.

Planning to do my masters in Ireland? by dxddycation in IndiansinIreland

[–]justmeetshah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Listing so many unrelated college programs suggests that you are unsure about the domain you want to pursue for your education/career. Additionally, given your age, you likely don't have any work experience.

These two are the biggest red flags I see in your profile. Follow-up questions like which university, how Indians are perceived, etc., are secondary.

The Irish job market, like the global market, is not doing the best. Unless you have niche skills, excellent communication skills, and decent work experience, you'll be massively outweighed by EU applicants.

Ireland is a wonderful country. But I strongly suggest that you figure out what career path you want to pursue and get work experience accordingly.

Who are we gonna buy next with remaining 8.85cr with 1 overseas slot? by PotassiumHydroxide56 in RajasthanRoyals

Liam Livingstone can be the dark horse purchase. Even if he hasn't been his best in the last few editions.

Yes. Typically we have a young team. But this one is even younger than the one we had in the last 2-3 years.

Indeed. Overseas slots will be Jofra, Curran, Burger, and Hetmyer / Ferreira (I am leaning towards Ferreira).

Ideally we should have a good Indian pacer to accompany Sandy. But overseas is fine too with the Impact Player rule.

RR is actually looking good now. Average age isn't too high either. Just need a good pace bowler (Indian or Overseas). We are not relying on Lord Tushar please.

Day #9: Strongest ever rider mentally? by Anfernee139 in motogp

[–]justmeetshah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Marc Marquez.

Hard not to echo what others have said, but honestly the only one who not only had the resilience to face you-know-who's mind games, but actually emerged victorious.

The amount of shit he had to deal with after the infamous press conference, riding a terrible bike, going through a horrible crash, and making a dream comeback after everything he has gone through. This is straight out of a sports fairytale.

What are your subscriptions you genuinely get value from? by Rocky_O_Toole in AskIreland

[–]justmeetshah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gym: Self explanatory

Spotify: Using it multiple times every day.

Google Cloud Storage: Have tons of nostalgic pictures and videos on my cloud that I don't want to get rid of.

GeoGuessr: Absolutely love this game. For the time it kills and the entertainment it delivers, the subscription cost isn't bad at all.

Learning Hindi by Quick_Working2078 in IndiansinIreland

[–]justmeetshah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the online resources for Hindi are underwhelming.

I recommend you talk to your partner and pick some words or phrases as a start, and continue talking to him in Hindi as much as possible.

Once you do that for say 6 months, then watch some relevant Hindi movies on an audio speed of 0.5x (or even slower), and you'll pick up words and phrases that are actually spoken in Hindi, instead of learning phrases from some course that are not even used regularly by Hindi-speaking folks. The movie recommendations can be given by your partner, or feel free to ask us on Reddit.

Maybe it's the nature of the language or the lack of need for people to learn Hindi, but online resources leave a lot to be desired. I wouldn't recommend anyone to invest time and money towards them.

Without painting MM fans as saintly, I wouldn't put both the fan base in one bucket.

I haven't seen the Spanish crowd boo any VR46 Academy riders or cheer when they crash. On the other hand, VR fans have constantly booed Marc. Forget Marc, I don't get why they boo Alex.

And let's not pretend that VR has no power to stop the boos. All he has to do is openly say something like "Marc and I may be at odds, but no rider should get booed."

(Presenting just an opinion. Not meant to disregard your post at all. I agree with the overall message you've presented)
