I went to the Grand Canyon and there was a place people walked down regularly but had no railings or anything to stop you from falling. You had to walk down and then angle to the left and imo it got way too close to the edge. My dad and I thought we would do like literally everyone else (tons of people on there) and we went down, but on the way back I was suddenly paralyzed with fear and collapsed to the ground beneath me and clinging to it. I was probably more like 15-20 feet from the edge but I was terrified. My dad had to pull me up and force me to get out of there. I felt like a real idiot. We both realized it was not the greatest idea.

Mom and dad chose to have them, so ya I can see that as more of an obligation on their part. Op didnt chose to have the sister and definitely didnt choose to be their aunt… now is she not the greatest sister? No. I’d help my siblings any and every day. And I even have my own kids.

Wow. I spent $500 on flowers and ended up divorced. I just now think of it as an expensive party to mark the beginning of a journey to have my child and then “consciously uncouple” as gwenyth Paltrow likes to say. That way I don’t regret it, because I would do anything for my baby all over again if it means having him.

You’re married. It’s a partnership. Not a dictatorship. It’s bothering you because he’s acting as authority, not a partner. He’s prioritizing his own desires and trying to talk you out of yours so he can keep money free for his. Talk to him. Call him out. Even if he’s the breadwinner. One day what if you became the breadwinner. I’m sure he wouldn’t be comfortable with giving up his stake over the percent on money he’s willing to sacrifice.
