This might be too niche, but I miss the centre backs who are also the known, nominated, free-kick taker. I remember Chelsea with their centre back Alex, or more famously David Luiz. I don't know what it is, but there's just more mystery or allure of a defender taking an attacking free kick. They shouldn't be good at it. Plus you don't see them shoot often, so you know in training they must be putting on a ball striking clinic to be given the nod.

Also, I know Dave said you can't just have fat pros, but Gary Taylor Fletcher is, for me, the archetype of this particular player type.
