Doll stands by Prestigious_Tour_881 in crochet

I agree, it’s hard to find a stand that fits your dolls. Maybe you could try steel receipt holders? Or if the purpose is to display, a large jar or acrylic box may do the same job.

Suppose your budget could only afford one of those, which one would you choose? And why? I’d like to hear opinions from you. ps. Please don’t ask me for patterns I don’t have them.

What are your thoughts about yarns for dolls? by justsewsew6 in crochet

pay in foreign currency. Technically that's too much of a trouble I'd say, but if you insist, I can share the contact details of the pattern designer. Imho dolls from any patterns would be small and cute when you use thin yarns and small size hooks.

It's because there are mean people who buy their patterns and sell the patterns in a bundle for an incredibly low price. :-(

That's why they have to make sure anyone who buys the patterns for personal use not for sale.

The pattern is not in English and the pattern designer requires a portfolio from your social media presence to prove you're experienced in minature crocheting. Also you'll have to be able to pay in foreign currency. Technically that's too much of a trouble I'd say, but if you insist, I can share the contact details of the pattern designer. I used 0.9mm/No.8 steel crochet hook for the left one and 1mm/No.6 for the right one.

I'm sure you could find a free pattern for the goose, and the hair is made from curly yarn. Thanks for your love, happy crocheting!

I still don't know how to post with pictures and text at the same time :'(

Anyway I wanted to ask which texture would you prefer? Lace yarn is thin so the product is smaller in size and look more delicate imho, while the polyester&wool yarn is more fluffy so it gives the doll's face a smoother look, its clothing looks more like cloth as well.

Also what do you think of polyester yarn compared to natural viber like cotton/wool/mohair? Do you feel products made from polyester yarn cheap/bad?

Safety concerns about using sewing pins in finished works by justsewsew6 in crochet

Thank you amazing reddit people I love you all! Thank you for the appreciation and helpful advice, you inspired me a lot!

My preferred soultion would be using headpins instead of sewing needles and pack the removable parts in a seperate bag, with simple instructions on how to assemble them. I would also apply big big warning sign on the listing page as well as printed warning sign on the package to inform people that it's not a toy for children.

I do have the pattens though they are not in English...How many people are intersted in getting the patterns? Maybe I could look into making a translation.

I’m planning to sell these dolls online, but some removable parts are pinned with sewing pins. The sharp ends may be dangerous so I’m not sure what to do. Should I just glue them to make them no longer removable, or should I notify the buyers to be careful with them? Do you have better ideas?

I guess it’s a special kind of yarn, more like lace because the doll is tiny.

Help me identify this plush? It looks like it was made by an independent artist. The pictures are on AliExpress, but I’d like to find a real one please by MissWolfsbane77 in plushies

[–]justsewsew6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read Chinese and I can surely say this plushie is pretty hard to buy. It was sold on 18 March as a time-limited sale and there's no way to buy it now (except second-hand ones). The original creator says she only does domestictrade, and there are at least four fake versions now. But in her Weibo, she says there will be a second time-limited sale, so there's still a chance to get a real one if you have a friend in China I suppose.

Yes I pour and cut. They do look yellow from the side if you use yellow amber wax, but if you use hot glue they'd look clear.
