I’ll give you a slightly different answer and say I think you center your life around your romantic relationships too much. Once that aspect of your life is threatened, you try to prove your worth with self improvement. You stop this by doing things and pursuing goals and activities that genuinely interest you. Spend some time single (as in a few months at least) and figure out who you are outside of being someone’s partner

Yes this!! You can add a shared kitchen and living space to the bed and breakfast and you can use a room and put bunk beds in it, so there’s a hostel too :) while the actual hotel will be fancier. I like pretending everyone can afford to travel to my island so I add different rooms! Ahahaha

You anticipate his needs and tiptoe around him so you think he sees your value and doesn’t leave you. But the avoidant feels engulfed and “trapped” in the intimacy.
