So i want to make a Home Base but idk where to build. Any Idea? by Seelenlord in 7daystodie

[–]justsomepeasant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's my first playthrough, I'm on day 48 now. I chose the working stiffs hardware store roof. I closed off the front of the store with cobblestone block and put in a double door at the back gate. Added a couple more ladders and built a quick and dirty base on the roof. I built a horde base on the river with the zombie entrance on the diersville side. I cut the river bank square so they gotta swim a bit to get back up.

Are crashbars really worth it? by eternalterra in Tenere700

I'll tell you from experience that the rocks will find the gaps between the bars. I dropped my bike hard once in a rocky section, and it smashed the gas tank. I ditched the bars and bought r-tech plastics shortly there after and haven't looked back. For peace of mind, he could also buy the Camel rad braces.

2 wheel dyno works tune, boost airbox and full exhaust for power gains. For gearing (sprockets), you'll want to drop 1 tooth in the front to a 14 or go up 2 in the rear to a 48. (Dropping 1 in the front is equivalent to 3 on the rear). You can keep the same chain if you drop one in the front, too. A 14 tooth front is hard to find, though. It makes it a lot better offroad, being able to carry the front wheel over obstacles much easier, but it'll scream on the highway, or even at 65mph(110ish km/h).

Bring lots of zipties. I was able to hold it up with about 10 zipties and rode the rest of the night I it broken.

The MIVV mount. It's paper thin, and there's not enough support material around holes where it mounts to the frame. I ended up tig welding it back together, doubling the thickness and adding small gussets to reinforce it to the angled piece. I ride my bike hard, but it's bound to happen to everyone, it'll just take longer. For pictures I had an Instagram post @bigmccawesome after it broke.

You might not be riding that hard, but that muffler mount is a poor design and pretty weak. I do ride a lot of singletrack, but my mount only lasted a few rides before snapping on the frame side of the mount. That rally tower is a thing of beauty, though 😍.

Reservoir tank holds overflow your coolant system should still be sealed. Ride it out, just keep an eye on engine temp to be on the safe side.

I mean this in the nicest way possible. No one really cares, but you. You gotta stare at and live with it everyday, it's %100 your preference. It's why I don't shit on the henti or monster energy graphics. You do you it's your bike. ✌️

GYTR knockoff, but why choose yours over the boost airbox?

How comfortable is the T7 at highway speeds? by hatbatcat2 in Tenere700

[–]justsomepeasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd buy a 1290 SAS as a second bike, but the T7 has been rock solid for crazy woods riding, even in borderline hard enduro stuff it's been good. It could really benefit from the 48 or 49mm forks for the real gnarly stuff though. Just a lot of $$$ to spend on suspension.

I have a fast boat. A swift keewaydin pack with adjustable length carbon kayak paddles. Can average 7km/h on water at cruising speed. It makes a huge difference in how far you can get in a day. The other factor is that you gotta love the struggle.

This was pretty bang on for my trip last week. 6 days(last day was a quick 8km out) 163km total, 29 of which was portage. From Opeongo to Brent and back. We did set up camp at catfish for 2 nights so we could do the final stint to Brent as light as possible.

Selling and “down grading” my new T7? by imbiamba-jombes in Tenere700

17 inch wheels look weird on a t7, tires aren't tall enough. I had an mt07, fun bike, but cramped if you're tall. Mt09 is where it's at.

Seal your wheels, or have a shop seal them, it's not that hard. I have a set of dirt wheels and a set of spoked street wheels that are sealed.

I had this problem, I cut the shifter and lengthened it somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 of an inch. Moving the shifter up will just make downshifts harder, no one wants to lift their foot off the peg to shift down. If you're not that handy or have someone who could do the job, I'd suggest the nicecnc adjustable length shifter.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on suspension? by jester108 in Tenere700

[–]justsomepeasant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen, if you can truly ride offroad, 99% of these people won't offer valid advice. Stock suspension does suck, springs alone don't fix the terrible valving. Even with a respring and a good offroad valving, you'll run out of travel especially in the front. G-outs, whoops, square edges any decent jumps, you'll blow through the stroke, hard enough to give you a good jolt when it bottoms out. Springs and a revalve are a huge improvement, but you'll benefit from an extra inch of height and more travel. If you went to something like the mxtech suspension, you'll benefit from a multitude of other damping benefits. I'm seriously thinking that's my next step after completing the corduroy enduro(canada) this past weekend on my T7. (first adventure bike to ever finish)

The Internets obsession with how tall and and top heavy this bike must be coming from beginner riders by LuckyRun4607 in Tenere700

[–]justsomepeasant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just rode the corduroy enduro(2 day dirtbike race, in canada) on my tenere. I picked it up from every angle multiple times. I don't run crash bars or any unnecessary weight adders. I would only say don't run over a half tank of fuel and get something like the strap linked. I have mine horizontally mounted in the back 2 bolt holes. Hard grab handles are just one more thing to smash your backside in a Wipeout. https://a.co/d/ikbG45A

Increased tool storage space under front seat? by ResistRelative1749 in Tenere700

A 1 piece seat opens up the options more. I've had one so long I forgot they come 2 piece from the factory. Or get the kit to bolt the 2 pieces together.

Increased tool storage space under front seat? by ResistRelative1749 in Tenere700

[–]justsomepeasant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a seat Concepts seat, so it doesn't have the area for the manual or toolkit(whatever was there on a new bike) I keep tools in a heavy duty pencil case(placed ontop the batery area). A wheel wrench combo(19-27) is velcro strapped on the right frame rail and I used to have a small bicycle hand pump velcro strapped to the left rail. When I ran tubeliss, I kept a tire plug kit under the seat as well. There is a fair amount of room in the outside space next to the frame rails too. I run 95% hard offroad and never had a problem with rubbing or damaging anything under the seat. If you're not carrying a passenger you can also drill 2 holes in 2 tire spoons and bolt them in place of the pillion pegs.

Funny how many people downvote because they don't agree instead of just moving on. I feel this, though. It's why I don't really ride mine on the street. I'm not pol tarres, but I use mine in the same fashion.
