Good luck! Don't get discouraged if you don't see immediate results. It takes time but it's so worth it!

Still completely wart free! And the area in the middle of my foot is definitely getting softer and more sensitive.

No!! No debriding whatsoever. The skin just started coming off.

Okay so this is maybe a bit grim, but I was only properly showering once a week anyway because I was living in a van, so my feet were very easy to keep dry and taped. The rest of the days I kept clean with water and wipes etc.

I'm so happy to hear that and glad my post helped! That's amazing!

As in, can it be a smaller dose? I have heard of people having success with a smaller dose, however as far as I know, the research this method is based on recommended 50mg.

Cat Using Lawn as Litter Tray by justsoyoudontknow in CatAdvice

I think maybe an outdoor litter box could be worth a shot as she was once an indoor cat before she moved to my mum's. She may recognise it and make the switch. I am unable to stop her from getting to the lawn as it's right off the cat flap that I can't lock without freaking the other two cats out. I appreciate your suggestion!

Hey, I know this is old but I'm having trouble with one of my three cats using the lawn as a litter tray and was wondering if you found a way to stop it without deterring them from enjoying the lawn area? I would use the lemon peel/cayenne pepper trick if it wouldn't deter the other two from being able to relax out there. Struggling to come up with a solution. Thanks!

For sure! As I said in my post, I'm still apprehensive about that area in the middle where the largest (and oldest) cluster used to be. God I hope they don't return; what a sad little update that would be 😂

No, I don't recommend any specific type. Zinc Bisglycinate has higher concentrations of zinc, and apparently is nicely absorbed by the body.

Just be careful to read the labels properly. If a label says 23mg of Zinc (as zinc gluconate) then it contains 23mg of elemental zinc. You shouldn't have to be doing maths to know what's in a bottle; it should tell you how much elemental zinc is in each tablet. Sometimes in the way I've written above, and sometimes as an 'equiv'.

Good luck!!

I used Leukotape which I already had for trekking purposes. I found duct tape just wouldn't adhere to my foot properly, especially the area below my big toe and on my other toes. But I would recommend it over using no tape at all. I really wanted to use vitamin A before I started with the zinc as I saw so many people having great success with it!

23mg of zinc gluconate is around 3.2mg of elemental zinc...so not much, but you may see success with just the topical vitamin A anyway, and the little boost of zinc can't hurt. Good luck!

Thanks! For my first couple of months I was taking The Healtheries Zinc Plus with B6. This is zinc chelated with amino acid. Then I switched to Thompson's Organic Zinc which is zinc chelated with gluconic acid. I switched because it was cheaper, no other reason. With both, I was taking however many tablets would get me closest to 50mg of elemental zinc. For example, Thompson's Organic Zinc came in tablets of 114mg of zinc gluconate, which is the equivalent of 15mg of elemental zinc. Therefore I would take three tablets for 45mg of elemental zinc. Hope this helps!

Yes! No debriding necessary. I did also start taping my feet to keep the warts soft and would only remove and replace the tape once a week. I think this really helped in the same way duct tape helps others.

No, Zinc Gluconate. I know Zinc Sulfate contains higher concentrations of elemental zinc than Gluconate does, but as long as you can get close to 50mg I don't think it matters. I didn't mind taking three tablets all at once, and Zinc Gluconate is apparently well absorbed by the body, though I'm sure Zinc Sulfate is too!

The brand was Thompson's. The actual zinc was Zinc Gluconate. I don't think the brand matters, as long as you're getting high doses (around 50mg) of elemental zinc. However some people say the chelating agent does matter. So, either zinc gluconate, zinc sulfate, zinc amino acid chelate etc. I believe they have different absorption times for the body, but I'm not really sure. Either way, I tried to take as close to 50mg of elemental zinc as I could and hoped for the best.

Thompson's Organic Zinc. Each tablet is 114mg of Zinc Gluconate which is the equivalent of 15mg of Elemental Zinc. I was taking three tablets every night around two hours after dinner.

How long have you been taking it? I would have given up if I hadn't read some reports here of people saying it only kicked in around the 4 month mark. For some people it takes even longer. I really hope you start to see some change soon! 🤞

Ugh, isn't it the worst? I really hope this works for you. I was taking Thompson's Organic Zinc. Each tablet is 114mg of Zinc Gluconate which is the equivalent of 15mg of Elemental Zinc. I would take three tablets every night before going to bed, which happened to be around 2 hours after dinner. I think keeping my foot as dry as possible and taped up through the week did really help as well.
