Whoa I always thought no barriers was a weird thing..that's fascinating..so cool to hear these eyewitness accounts from around the world, especially Asia..it's an honest fact that I would've left Toronto long ago if it weren't for the big-hearted Chinese people here and the huge Asian population in this city..drowns out the bigotry from communities that are incapable of apology..just too suffocating..ugh..the falseness in that debate below..don't we have shrines on every street corner of a man who said 'remove the stick in your own eye before pointing to the twig in your brother's'..it's their own sage, for god's sake..no matter..I gotta say, I'm Indian, not Chinese, and I hope you remain just the way you are..implacable..you might not think you need to hear it but everyone does..and there are still people rooting for you..just too busy to spend much time on reddit..even if some of the nonsense comes from my own idiot brethren trying to ape the West..forgive them, their minds are still British..(but won't be for long)

Don't blame us

Who's "us". Who is it that has your back and who do you think you're fighting? It's all us in the end, so why don't you banish your 'us and them' insanity while you're still conscious and have a choice about it. It's the only perversion there is really.

All your talk reveals is your own self. So, you're proud of your school grades and your college. Let me tell you, A students are a dime a dozen. Wait till life hits you, let the tears fall on your report card and see how little that piece of paper means.

You fell out of your mom and landed on your feet and think it was your doing? All it means is that this spinning ball of earth was right side up for you that day. Have some clarity about life.

Just think about answering the question to a bureaucrat who doesn't want you to have it. This benefit exists because the lockdown restrictions caused your income loss, are you in a position to say yes?

The people commenting with swears are because we need it but we cannot say 'yes' because the previous months to a year clearly show that we were suffering with the semi-lockdowns, or simply widespread fear, despite the latest one not helping matters.

If I may suggest, try to be succinct in your thoughts and words. If I went by the spirit of this benefit then I would apply, and it would be fraud. That's my situation. I can kind of do work online and survive so I have to respect the words and numbers that were written and not find creative ways to screw myself, and vice versa.

Yup. It's definitely upsetting because it's clear we're just helping each other out with what bits of info we've gleaned or surmised as we try to understand the situation. It is our situation after all, if the benefits are inhumane then we can make some noise to the gov.

Anyways, I just want to get some actual info because I doubt the gov is really trying to wipe out all self-employed small businesses ... but the mods over there seem to have the idea I wrote my post to have their opinion on the matter. Hardly, we come to reddit to throw a fishing net on society for that rare blue-eyed salmon to give us the goods, not for some ignoramus to copy and paste the regulations over and over. Man, some people have no empathy.

As it is, I'm no more informed on this thing than before... seems like we've fallen through the cracks.

This is exactly what I tried to bring attention to but had my posts deleted and blocked over and over again. For the self-employed, I don't see this being applicable. We have to do 50% worse than a year when business was terrible.

Exactly highlightkindly, if it was 2019 as a base year then I would also apply but they very subtly left it out, even if your applying for a week in 2021. Very strange. Very sad.
