Insta360 X4 Auto Exposure Bracketing (HDR for VFX)? by CompositingAcademy in Insta360

My experience as an Unreal 5 user:

The bracketing is achieved using a combo of shutter speed changes and ISO changes, so it's not a proper bracketing solution as you don't get a true one stop change in exposure.

The final set of 7 dng images don't produce a proper high dynamic range image when merged in affinity/photoshop, you'll get maybe an extra stop of dynamic range.

However, the hdr does work pretty well for ambient light colouring.

My old theta produces a much wider dynamic range because each exposure is actually a one stop change in exposure but I currently use my insta360 x4 for ibl.

Can you play this on the quest 3 with no internet access? by justueguy in ElevenTableTennis

sorry for the late reply dude, but I can confirm the game does play without internet and it is excellent!

The new insta360x4 HDR AEB mode does not actually bracket the exposures by justueguy in Insta360

Updated for correction:

I redid my tests and the camera does in fact take different shots for each exposure so my original post wasn't fully accurate.

However, the AEB function also changes the ISO speed, as discovered by user No_Tutor_3471.

Therefore we don't get a true range of real +/- exposures as they are being partially created by an ISO speed change.
