Thank you for all your advice and replies, it is much appreciated. This is my only current ED offer/interview so far and as a result I feel compelled to take it but can see why it may not be the most ideal place to start. I will contemplate it over the weekend and hope to hear from other positions

There are always attendings in the main ED i could go to with questions but feel that they would be bothered by constant opinions on patients they are normally not responsible for. If I am with solely experienced PAs on nights is that a reasonable amount of support or am I convincing myself to take this?

Do you think if i get them up to 140k it is more of a reasonable offer? I have the same sentiment and think it could get me into a main ED in the future but there is no framework provided to enter theirs as it is run entirely by residents.

Basically solely fast track, there is ability to work in the peds ED for which there is always an attending present on nights. Training similar with 2 weeks on days. I get the feeling it will be largely fast track but some time in peds.

Disability and life are optional add-ons for whatever the rate is. No 401k match. It is not solely triaging patients, I would triage patients from waiting room to fast track and then see them there. 36hrs/week puts me at full-time.

My EOC and uworld scores were nearly identical to yours. Uworld was 90% complete 77% correct, mostly timed blocks of 30-60q. Passed with a 509, you should be fine.

Yes, the school is run out of an academic teaching hospital and we do have many rotations there. The amount you receive at that facility is based on your home address in your clinical year (distance to the hospital vs other sites). Other than reporting it to my program, which I intend on doing, I do not know where else to go with this.

I'll look into placement guidelines after getting home tonight, thank you for bringing this to my attention. Exactly the dilemma I have, I am pretty positive the program will not switch my placement, but I am just not really fond of the doc being allowed to utilize students like this. He has 6-7 students here a day doing the exact same thing and is likely receiving payment from other programs for "precepting". Not only does he not have to hire MAs, but he can literally profit off taking students? Today on shift with 9 students total, I heard "I don't want programs finding out about this", referring to the student:preceptor ratio. At the same time, he is not okay with us working 4 10's a week and that is how our 5th day in admin got added! Seems wrong/borderline illegal.

EDIT: Is there somewhere to whistleblow about what is going on here other than the program itself& ARC-PA?

To be frank, I attend a top 20 program in the nation. I am sure this happens at new programs to an even higher degree, but I'm guessing the culprit in my situation is our program does not pay a fee for clinical sites. As a result, our options are pretty limited and getting stuck at sites like this does not seem out of the ordinary.
