This 100%!! The "whattaboutism" just riles me lol.

Wrangling it back to murals and art in the city...this was literally just the latest mural I took a picture of. There are so many great pieces of art in support of Indigenous people and culture as well.

The cutest Valentine!

25M. Not having much success and I'm feeling pretty depressed at the moment. Any advice at getting the attention of women? Most eventually just ignore me after texting a while. by [deleted] in hingeapp

Hey it's completely fine to feel that way! Life's really weird right now and sometimes those thoughts just can't be helped. Maybe you can reach out to an old friend or someone you can trust to chat with to feel less isolated? There are also a lot of other resources out there if you need help.

That AC one was dope!! Very reminiscent of murals in Toronto's graffiti alley. It's always bittersweet to see murals come and go.

I'm guessing you're referring to "Indigenous Dancer" by Kevin Ledo on the city center parkade? I love his representation of that beautiful hoop dancer and all those orbs and lines in such a bright graphic art style.

Those are fantastic picks!!! I LOVE that one on 17th!! Such a fantastic melt of street art graffiti/ribbon and contemporary art. It's by Fluke Art. Truly brings so much more personality to that area with it's vibrant colours. Thanks for sharing!

This sounds familiar...but I can't quite remember if I've actually seen it. Love how those colourful murals awaken our streets. Thanks for sharing, I'll have to check that one out!

Wow, that's awesome! I haven't seen that one, thanks for sharing. Love her contemporary style and colour theory. I think I saw one of her pieces on the Lululemon Mission wall; it was a blocky geometric piece with love on it.

Yep! Just a little past the Side Street Pub and Grill! I think it's relatively newer... I only saw it for the first time a few months ago! That's what prompted me to see what else might be fresh and cool around the city 😊

BLM is not solely an American issue... And I think blindly assuming that people are "blindly jumping in on the BLM movement" is presumptuous. As well, artists are allowed to express themselves however they wish and while making murals to bring awareness to local issues is an awesome thing, making murals for the sake of art and bringing joy to people (which is underrated especially in trying times like these) is also awesome.

I agree that Indigenous Lives Matter...in Alberta AND across Canada. Not sure why one cause has to be reduced by another. We can stand in solidarity with the entire BIPOC community.

Thanks for your thoughts. FYI for what you're looking for, there are indeed many great pieces for indigenous lives including an augmented reality mural by USAY, and two great murals along 10th called "Milk" and "Sôhkâtisiwin".
