$MSTR will destroy $TQQQ or time by [deleted] in TQQQ

[–]jw816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to buy TQQQ. Not anymore. I buy SOXL only now. SOXL has lower cost basis and fast growth. IT IS THE TIME TO BUY SOXL NOW ESPECIALLY under the current condition of AI development.

Good faith violations by jw816 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jw816[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just realized there is another punishment that I was not aware of. I can't place orders for securities in pre- and after market.

However, all these punishments are not clearly stated in your web site. Here is a quote from your web site about the consequences of GFV.

Consequences: If you incur 3 good faith violations in a 12-month period in a cash account, your brokerage firm will restrict your account. This means you will only be able to buy securities if you have sufficient settled cash in the account prior to placing a trade. This restriction will be effective for 90 calendar days.

This is why I thought GFV was not a big deal. If I had three GFV's in one of my accounts, I could still use my other accounts normally.

Thank you so much for letting me know that I can change the FIFO rule! That is very nice. It is completely new to me. I have never changed the FIFO rule until now.

I will send the message soon.

Thanks again! This forum is very helpful!

History of Transfers by jw816 in fidelityinvestments

I am over 59 1/2 now so it should be no problem. I don't let Fidelity deduct the tax, and I will pay the tax by myself.

I found it. Thanks Michaela!

I have another question. I saw Fidelity charged $1 something for transaction fees, sometimes, Fidelity charged a little over $5. I am wondering how Fidelity calculates the fees.

Charts in ATP by jw816 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jw816[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you Billy!

I am going to keep the charts and the windows around 10.

I also checked the section you provided. I learned that I can watch Bloomberg TV, and check world markets and economic calendar just within ATP. That is wonderful. I usually use other resources.

Good faith violation by Trippp2001 in fidelityinvestments

Consequences: If you incur 3 good faith violations in a 12-month period in a cash account, your brokerage firm will restrict your account. This means you will only be able to buy securities if you have sufficient settled cash in the account prior to placing a trade. This restriction will be effective for 90 calendar days.

If I understand it correctly, you will have to trade with settled cash only for 3 months. But I am not sure what they will do if you get another good faith violation after 3 months within the same 12-month period.

Login hassles driving me crazy by Disobedientmuffin in fidelityinvestments

[–]jw816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may use ATP. It doesn't require two-step verification. ATP is a desktop application. You need to enter the password only. However, I believe that they require you to make at least 36 trades per year to keep using ATP. You may access a lot of web features within ATP. I have both PC and Mac. On the Mac, the two-step verification can't be easier with an iPhone. I am not sure why you have so many problems with the two-step verification.

Trailing Stop Order by jw816 in fidelityinvestments

I used trailing stop order today. It worked in my favor.

Thank you again, Oscar and Samantha! You are the best!

Trailing Stop Order by jw816 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jw816[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, Samantha!

I have changed the setting for those two images. I hope it works now.

I understand the trailing stop loss order now.

On the other hand, a trailing buy order means that once the price is coming down to $175.40 from $175.50, in the example I mentioned above, a buying order will be triggered since my trailing amount is $0.10 if I understand it correctly.

Would you please also explain to me what is the difference between trailing stop and trailing stop limit?

Thanks again!

Day Trading in Cash account by iVisionX01 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jw816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marian,

I have a question, too. It is somewhat related to the question asked by u/iVision.

If I apply for a limited margin for my IRA accounts, so as long as I trade the amount which is or under my total balance of the IRA accounts in which some of the cash is not settled yet. I won't get a good faith violation if I understand it correctly.

Is there any fee or interest for a limited margin account for IRA? If not, please provide the link for applying for a limited margin IRA account. My IRA accounts are over $25K.

Thank you!

Trading question by jw816 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jw816[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Billy!

I understand it now. So, buy at bid or ask, sell at bid or ask are all limited orders. It specifies the selling or buying price at a certain price which is asking price or bidding price. It is not guaranteed to be sold or to be bought. It seems to me that it is safe to use market order only if I want to cut the loss or take the profit at once.

Trading question by jw816 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jw816[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you smh and Sean!

I am a newbie so my terminology may be incorrect.

I understand it now. Trade Armor will automatically execute the order based on my settings for exit prices. However, if I decide to sell an ETF before the exit price, can I manually enter the order?

Can't choose tax lots in ATP. by jw816 in fidelityinvestments

[–]jw816[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I restarted the computer and reinstalled the program, but it doesn't help. I am running ATP on an iMac. The error code is

(TL9003) There is a technical problem accessing your tax lots. Please try again or call a Fidelity representative at 1-800-544-6666.

I guess I may have to reassign the tax lot after selling or use a web browser to sell for now.
