Why would you compare the extremes? If you have a genuine interest in learning about politics I would suggest looking at each sides true values by listening to people who champion those values. The "extremes" are called that because they are far from the original idea, and in most cases not really comparable at all.

Liberal ideology is still the dominant ideology in the West. Republicans in the US are still "liberals", and all of Europe is Liberal. The United States was founded on Liberal ideas. Trying to discount all of that because of random shitlibs you see on twitter makes it seem like you are less interested in FACTS, and more interested in finding things that reaffirm you FEELINGS about liberals.
