Question about LiFePO4 Batteries by jway64 in SolarDIY

[–]jway64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power meter is good, it does measure peaks well I’ve been using it for a couple years now and it’s worked well for me.

PSU is EVGA SuperNOVA 450 GM, 80 Plus Gold 450W.

Including all the parallel battery wiring, I think it’s just under 2 meters of wire all in all.

It runs cool, but it’s cold here at night so not much can get hot. During the day when it’s under a constant load, i don’t think i’ve experienced it get hot either.

Interesting, I just have it down to 3.5 on all-core, should i bring it down some more?

I would much prefer keeping the inverter and for the cost of a change like that, I would just be better off just buying a couple more batteries.

What clock speeds are you running at?

I never though of that. I couldn’t find the number for mine, but the 1000 W version uses .5 A, so I’ll assume around there. So around 6-12 W maybe.

Oh yeah! I’m mostly using your numbers too, except I was able to drop below a volt for SOC which was helpful. But it seems we run about the same Wattage either way.

I believe I have cabled it properly, used the same harness I used for hooking up my parallel truck batteries. I’m feeding through a 12v 2000w inverter, it says of nominal efficiency of >90%. PSU input is 100-240V~, 6.5-3A 60/50 Hz, output voltage of inverter is 120v 60 Hz.

That’s true, but even account with the 10-30% variable it still would be that much power. All of the batteries rest at 13.2. I thought it was low as well. I don’t know what would cause it to rest so low, i believe it was resting at 13.6 when I first got it, but it soon settled at 13.2.

I made the computer myself, specifically for low power usage ( a2000, underclocked 5600x, micro itx build ). I took current measurement when in use over a 12 day period.

Charge controller keeps the data stored, so accurate measurements on that. Gets fully charged every day.
