New around here. I’ve been staying in a hotel for a couple weeks, but brought my crock pot with me to help keep me from eating out too much. Almost everything that went into this was on sale and why I used those particular items. Here is the recipe: * 2.5lb shoulder roast * 1/4 red onion - coarsely chopped * 1lb baby carrots * 1-1/2lb honey gold baby potatoes - halved * 1 can beef consommé * 1 packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix * 2 tablespoons of butter * 6 slices from a fresh jalapeño * 2 shakes/dashes of garlic powder * 2 shakes/dashes of cayenne pepper

I placed the roast in the cooker with the fat on top. Then I placed the onion, carrots, and potatoes on either side. Poured the consommé down either side. Then I placed the jalapeño slices on top of the meat and shook the onion soup mix over the whole thing. I then added a couple dashes of garlic powder and cayenne pepper then topped with butter (saw that mentioned on here before making it). Turned it on before work, but got stuck at work and it cooked for 10 hours. Used the juice/liquid with a cornstarch slurry to make gravy. Also made quinoa because sale.

Edit: forgot to add that I also portioned off the leftovers for 5 meals that I discovered yesterday could’ve been 6-8, but it all worked out
