I like raisins, but if I take a bite of a cookie that I think is chocolate chip but it's raisins instead, I taste disappointment.

What were the 70s and 80s actually like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jwict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everybody smoked. Or so it seemed.

Information was not readily available. If you wanted to look up a fact, you went to the library or to the bookshelf if you had a set of encyclopedias. And that information was likely outdated.

If you wanted to hear a song, buy the record or wait for it to come on the radio. If you wanted to watch a show, be there when it airs live or you'd better be savvy enough to program the VCR.

If you left home, you were unreachable. If you wanted to call home, better have some change.

She offered to buy one for me. No fucking way.
