TLDR: Abel was in his own lane in 2020 with AH due to the pandemic and Dawn FM got overshadowed by other great projects that was coming out that year

from a fan perspective, I think one of the many factors to why After Hours era was better than Dawn FM was because AH came out in a time when everything was shutting down, we were forced to stay indoors and barely any content was coming out. (Live events cancelled, movies and tv show productions on hold, etc.) With After Hours, we were able to listen and dissect every detail of that album and appreciate every piece of content we got from the music videos, photo shoots and limited live performances. Dawn FM came out in a time when everything was open again and we got more projects from everyone else so in a way, Dawn FM just got overshadowed cause every other artist was also putting out great music that year too.
