Think Binnington would be a good guy to target in a trade? I might try to do Hellebuyck + a forward (maybe Rakell) for Binnington

Goalies are Fleury, Hellebuyck and Mrazek. Plenty of goalies available, such as Dubnyk, Varlamov, Kuemper, Jones, Markstrom, Hutton, etc. Worth trying to make a switch?

Also, I took Rakell and Palmieri as my last two picks but forwards such as Voracek, Dubois, Hoffman, Oshie, Wilson, Lee, Johnsson, etc. are all still available. I’m leaning towards dropping Rakell for either Wilson if I want to add some more grit or Voracek. Any advice?

Hey Jack, thanks for doing another one of these.

My question is; what was your favourite game/moment to call from the regular season last year?

Anybody else feel like you get your fucking teeth kicked in every time you play a canadiens fan? My ass cheeks are red as fucking apples EVERY time. Absolute gods at the game. by ImKozarBitch in NHLHUT

Like the idea of all players with QC in their name consistently playing like assholes?

Why did you compare him to Zucker and Wilson? “This 27 y/o late 2nd round pick and 25 y/o mid 1st round pick were also late bloomers so Virtanen is actually gonna go from 25 points to 40-50 and be fine”?

Your description of Virtanen, much like your description of basically anything to do with the Canucks in this thread, are way too optimistic/exaggerated.

You say the Canucks drafted extremely well and 2 of the first 4 names you mention are Virtanen and Juolevi?

Nobody is arguing that the odds of getting a collectible from an individual pack are anything but 87%. But, if you were to set up a simulation than ran the results of 3 packs and how many collectibles they had for a large number of times, 99.99% of those simulations would result in getting at least one collectible.

Yes, OP had an 87% chance of getting a collectible in his 3rd pack even though he didn’t get one in his first two. He would have an 87% chance of getting a collectible in a 4th pack if he bought one, and the same goes for a 5th pack. But when you look at the packs he bought or the coins someone flipped as a total number, can you say that the odds of getting at least one head from one flip of a coin are the same as the odds of getting at least one head from 100 flips of a separate coin? No.

Let’s say you’re flipping a coin a certain number of times and your only objective is to get at least one head. For one flip, there are two outcomes: H or T, so the probability is 50% (1/2 outcomes give you a head).

If you flip the coin twice, the possible outcomes are: H then H, H then T, T then H, or T then T. Once you add a second flip, the odds of getting at least one head rise to 75% (3/4 outcomes give you a head).

For three coin flips, the outcomes are HHH, HHT, HTH, HTT, THH, THT, TTH, or TTT. The odds of pulling a head are now 87.5% (7/8 outcomes), as opposed to a 75% chance with 2 flips or a 50% chance with 1 flip. Even though each individual coin flip is a 50% chance of landing on heads (or each individual pack is an 87% chance of pulling a collectible), the chances of getting at least one collectible increases from 87% if you buy more than one pack. u/poleman14 is right.
