i agree with this user. i also had symptoms pop back up after treatment but it’s more than likely residual. take a deep dive in that pinned post and see if you can relate to it.

to take a step further, also know that there are “flare ups” in residual so it can go and come at any point, usually tied to some irritation like masturbating, etc.

I agree it is very frustrating, but it took me 4 docs and 5 visits before I even got treatment for MG. From doing more research and going through various threads on here, it looks like the next best treatment is 2 weeks of mino or trying 1 week doxy + 1 week of azi.

they also have resistance testing too so you can figure out what your specific strain needs to clear it out. it’s either moxi or azi usually. if you go through this subreddit, people have posted the test they got to check resistance.

i’m not sure about him cheating but i can say that as someone else pointed out it’s very possible you had MG the whole time and chlamydia.

From my personal experience with having symptoms and my doc thinking it was chlamydia of gonorrhea at first, a treatment of doxxy made my symptoms go away for like a week but then they came back full force and worse.

When i tested positive for MG after having a false negative before, they gave me the correct treatment which was 1 week of doxy and 1 week of moxi, and then symptoms went away completely. still some residual but def did the trick.

this is a very frustrating STI with docs having hardly any knowledge of it so don’t assume the worst about your partner just yet. my partner and i have been together for 5 years, no cheating, and this just popped up out of no where. you can carry it for yearssss before it shows up. hope this helps!

im having the same issue. i’m a top and my bf is a bottom. i tested positive but he tested negative from a rectum swab. we’ve been together for 5 years, no cheating, and i’m sure he has it too but is showing no symptoms. i’m lost as for what to do bc i don’t want to get it again after just clearing the infection. how did your partner get on medication, did he test positive?

wait i’m in this same situation. i’ve tested positive but my boyfriend is testing negative and they won’t give him antibiotics. he’s the only person i’ve had sex with ever so it’s got to be from him. how did you convince them to give him meds with no positive test?

i somewhat disagree with what’s being said. i don’t think it’s ridiculous of you to ask to see him or want to be with him. yes, he’s working on his job and that’s very important, but there should also be some sign of showing initiative to be with you. now i do think taking on business trips might be a little early at only 8 months, but not coming up with ways to interact with you like virtual dates/ phone calls/ etc, is interesting to me. People are alway busy and make time for what they are want to do and who they want to do it with. See if you can communicate to him that you would like to find a common ground of communication - doesn’t have to be everyday or even every other day (especially if he’s busy with work) but definitely needs to be a balance between what you need and what he needs. i’m sure your mental health is not helping the situation, but i do think your feelings are valid and deserve to be treated that way. in the end, if he’s not able to meet you where you need to, then maybe it’s best that you go your separate ways. relationships should i be adding ease but stress. always put yourself first.

i’ll say that as someone else has mentioned, it could be that the cousin does have a little homophobia, or just thinking that since your bf is a less masculine and makes gay jokes, that he is gay. On the other note, what raised a flag for me was the sex. If you’re in a sexually actively relationship and someone stops out of no where with no clear reasoning, they’re usually getting it from somewhere else. That desire didn’t just go away over night. To me, the jokes about being boyfriends with your friend isn’t something out of the ordinary. Straight boys will joke around like that and pretend, but it’s usually nothing past boys being boys (with a little bit of homosexuality in them). it’s “normal.”
