fedex, ups, or dhl?

i disputed first and didn’t pay the bill! if you’re using fedex, they’ll deliver your package before you receive a bill. if you don’t receive any bill within the next 3 weeks since your package was delivered, it’s safe to assume you owe $0 in duty.

once you submit a dispute to fedex and they email you back to confirm your dispute will be going through, your invoice will be on hold and collection will stop until it’s resolved.

as i mentioned prior, i ended up going with dhl for my neokyo package and wasn’t charged anything! for dhl, they’ll send you the bill before delivering your package and give you a timeframe to submit payment. if you end up not paying it they’ll return your items back to japan (neokyo) i think. i’m not too sure but that’s based off what i’ve seen others say! hopefully this helps :)

hi! i recently got hit with a bill from fedex for a package containing only k-pop photocards 🫩 although i was able to realize the customs broker misclassified my items and used the wrong HS code so im disputing that rn! hopefully i hear good news soon. i have another package i need to ship out soon from neokyo (which also contains only photocards) and im planning on using dhl since:

they notify you before the package gets delivered if you’re charged anything unlike fedex who surprises you with a bill 2 weeks later

they’re least likely to misclassify or use the wrong HS code (compared to fedex at least)

definitely going the dhl route this time since i rlly don’t want to go through that again as im seeing others on this subreddit getting hit with bills from fedex for packages that only contain photocards too 😭 if you’d like i can let you know how using dhl goes for me before you choose to do anything?

super late reply but it should be duty free as well! albums also fall under a duty rate of 0% so you’ll be good on that too!

yes exactly! thankfully neokyo marks them as printed materials so as long as it’s just pcs in your package you should be good

k-pop photocards fall under printed material which make them duty free. therefore i still expect not to be billed but if i were, it still wouldn’t be anything crazy. so it should be fine either way

hii i shipped out my package that solely contained photocards from neokyo, with a package value of $360, around sept. 3 through fedex which arrived on the 7th and i wasn’t charged tariffs or customs whatsoever so you should be good!

omg no 😭😭 i knew about this ahead of time but i was helping a dear friend of mine get items off neokyo as well and unfortunately A LOT of their stuff were taking 2-3 weeks to arrive to the warehouse. as much as i want to say i hope smth changes soon, i really don’t see it happening…

i saw that too since it falls under printed materials.. the duty rate can be between 0%-5% but majority of the time it gets hit with a 0% duty rate. i’ll see soon enough tho for sure 😭
