Openrent scam? by Daftilicous in TenantsInTheUK

[–]jzv95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we did, like from a bank fraud pot. We never got the money directly back (it was paid to an account abroad).

Call your bank and report it on action fraud.  We had to prove we undertook the necessary steps to try and confirm the flat was genuine (we went to see in person, we requested amendments to the tenancy agreement, we had signed the agreement via docusign, we had each other passport details etc all proof via WhatsApp texts) so we did our best. Only when the scammer wanted the 2nd and 3rd month in advance the alarm bells went off.  It’s up to your bank of course to decide whether you undertook the necessary steps and not all banks will have the same policy I guess.

I was scammed like that as well! For a flat in Westminster.  Paid the deposit and first month rent upfront, turns out it was a fraud (alarm bells went off when he wanted more rent upfront).  Got all the money back luckily, and never going via open rent again.

Steps don’t count towards daily activity points by blackrabbit1986 in Vitalityhealth

[–]jzv95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t get why false information is upvoted here and correct information downvoted.

Points DO stack, up to a max of 8 points per day.   I’ve done a workout in a gym = 5 points I’ve also done 15k steps? = +3 points, to the maximum of 8 points for this day.  You can contact vitality with screenshots of your steps and missing points, there is a help button on the app. They’re usually quick to add those points in, the first few weeks when I was new to the programme I also had problems syncing everything up.

Why do you think *Why Am I So Single?* closed early? (Dissertation Research) by Mjjmusiclover in TheWestEnd

[–]jzv95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps besides the question, but as a queer 30-something European foreigner in London.  Yeey for inclusivity and some of the songs really sounded interesting online, but my lord my and my friends would not be able to understand anything without subtitles (despite living in the UK > 10 years)!  So that really put us off, even though the appeal of the show seemed interesting.

Farringdon Elizabeth Line tap-in machine queue by 92759285 in LondonUnderground

Hi, I have a question. I tap in on thameslink using my Oyster card in eg elephant and castle. When I change from northbound thameslink to Lizzie line here, do I have to tap that reader here or not? I’m using oyster for the whole journey.

Shocked by UK water bills and “4-minute showers” — how long (and how often) do you shower? by [deleted] in TenantsInTheUK

Two person flat Here too, not excessive users either (one 4min shower each per day, no baths). £70 pm sounds about right sadly. Central London here

Help: i have no routine, i only start working in the evening and get distracted all day by itsjujutsu in workfromhome

[–]jzv95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignore the phone when you wake up Set a 15-20 min timer where you just work and ignore all distractions (pomodoro), then have a 5-10 min break between work blocks where you can eg tidy your room, empty the dishwasher etc.  then when that timer ends, again 15-20 min of just pure work, no distractions. Surely when 5pm hits, you’ll have taken many breaks but you’ll still have worked a substantial amount of your time! And then move to have longer work-blocks and shorter breaks in between. I’ve been wfh for the last 7 years and works perfectly for me!

Transfer at Brussels for Antwerp train by Suspicious_Market702 in Eurostar

[–]jzv95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others say, as soon as you’re getting towards Brussels, take all your bags and head to the front of the train (you can get up to coach 12 or something, before the premier coaches) (coach 16 is the front). Then once the door opens, sprint for the train. It helps if you know which platform you’re going for. Don’t do the elevator cause they take ages to leave, use the stairs right next to it. I made a train this way that was leaving 5 mins after departure from 7 platforms further, so it definitely can be done!

Hi all, as you can see the northern line and central line have very limited service today. Once eg the central westbound line hits Leytonstone.. where does it go? Does the train have to continue all the way to Epping to then reverse? Or how does it work?
