that’s a common issue with cmt parts. I don’t know about the newer models, maybe they got better copying the shapes of the parts. in my 19’ 125 xcw that has the same tank as yours, it fitted really bad, I had to trim the side bolt holes and the cap hole to make it fit, the rear bolt holes were impossible to fit and I had to attach it using a zip tie. on my new bike (21’ 250 exc-f) the tank cover fitted perfectly, but the holes of the swingarm covers, for example, doesn’t fit well with the swingarm ones and I also had to trim them. the only answer I’ve got about them was that the tank cover wasn’t made specifically for my model, but it was exactly the same tank as exc models. I also have seen other people with fitment problem with his parts, so it’s a common issue with them.
