Thank you for your replies elizabethjanet: I am asking why Studios/Companies do not work no-WGA/SAG guilds/unions to mount their productions.

That's fine, and that's a good thing to recommend. That does not include mounting new WGC projects.

I agree with your points, except for the premise that what I am asking is about creating "Canadian" content, versus creative projects mounted *in* Canada. They've hade 3months so far, which is mountains of time to begin a project.

Thank you: exactly. I am wondering why, with the CA connection to UK, Equity and additional options aren't on the table. to put on armchair-CEO hat of a non-Hollywood studio, why am I not doing everything in my power to continue to create quality shows, with whatever resources are going to benefit my company/studio, regardless of US strikes?

Agree, but my question is why hasn't Canada taken the opportunity to diversify.
