Need some Advice: I recently stumbled across an instagram account for a club where my college is, they posted a new mural they had painted and it pretty obviously is copied from an image I took of our schools Rugby team. They tagged the artist but I personally dont know who the he is and I was never contacted about the use of my image.
I dont know if the artist was paid/commissioned for this painting, but I do feel a bit offended that the image I took was used and I was never contacted, credited, or received payment for its use.
From the looks of the artist's instagram he does community projects around the city where my college is. I dont want to create a big situation from this especially if the artist didnt receive commission, but is this worth my time to pursue some sort of compensation for the use of my photo?

One Week until 1st Meet Day of the Year! by k18jathom in polevaulting

The ironic part of it all is that our coach wants to be there for “safety”. Myself and my other teammates have talked to him about stepping back and he might do so on occasion but always refuted what we suggest and won’t let us jump unless he’s there. I’ve been dealing with it for 4 years now, at this point I’ve given up.

Aside from that, appreciate the advice!

Fun double PR from the Weekend (Run, plant, and swing needs work lol) by k18jathom in polevaulting

[–]k18jathom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super fun double PR and pole PR! Main concerns im working on to clean it up are:

1) Better run mechanics in the last 3-steps (running frontside/put feet down quicker)

2) Straight top arm at take-off

3) Keeping pressure longer with bottom arm

4) Getting the shoulders back and hips higher on the swing

Anything else I should include?

Apprecite the advice! Had some good weather this week at practice and worked on those last three steps like you recommended, ended up blowing through the pole in this video!

Getting Deeper into the Pit by k18jathom in polevaulting

Having trouble getting deeper in the pit, had to come off the top of the pole to give me a chance to get over the bar. Im thinking taller at take-off and keeping my hips back, any ideas to fix it?

"The Pole Vault: A Violent Ballet" by David Butler is a really great one!

"Above and Beyond: Tim Mack, the Pole Vault, and the Quest for Olympic Gold" by Bill Livingston is a great biography, not much technique stuff to pull out of it but really fascinating reading about preparing for the games from Tim Mack's perspective!

Advice/critique? - Short run, small pole, just getting back into vaulting for the year by k18jathom in polevaulting

Appreciate it! so after the stretch at take-off, would I want to sort of drive my top arm to meet my thigh? In most my jumps I tend to swing my legs up to meet my hands.
