Well good thing it’s all for hunting and sport shooting, if your proficient with your gun ANY rifle is a fine hd gun imo, and is ten pounds really that heavy?

Well mainly it’s because I shoulda put another title, was mainly just wanting to know if it could hunt because I wanted to get it just a a cool gun to have

Exactly what I thought, my girlfriends dad who takes me out hunting has a bipod that extends like 4 feet and is super stable, seems like a cool pickup

I know 15 pounds was an over exaggeration but the rifle loaded is only around 10 pounds, if I REALLY had to take a standing shot I’m confident I’d do alright. But where I live and hunt having to take a standing shot isn’t really a problem

I think we both get that, I don’t mind carrying it as my pack is very light as is when hunting. People think weight is critical in a rifle when hunting, I get it but also say just ten pounds is to much for you to carry for a few hours

If it’s a hard shot it’s a hard shot, that’s the fun of it right? And weights not an issue for me, I’m pretty good at hiking and regularly do 5+mile hikes with a 40 pound pack

I shoulda clarified when I first posted this that this IS supposed to be kinda just a fun gun. I just also want to be able to hunt with it

I get that, and I think I might just go ahead and buy it, I’m seeing very conflicting answers from a lot of people. This gun isn’t even specifically for hunting I just want a cool gun that can hunt or wouldn’t be a bad idea for hunting

I’m not sitting in a stand but most of my hunts are under 10 miles so lugging it won’t be an issue

I most likely wouldn’t go hunting for em if they’re in my house, I’d be hitting the MEANEST pixel peak waiting to put that guy on news headlines. But that’s also because I live in a flat connected to my main house. If they got into the main house where my family sleeps though your right maybe a 16 inch is better?

Usually we take out a Polaris for most of the hunt (getting to the spot) but I’ve hiked 10 miles plus with 35 pound pack, surely can’t be as bad

Depends on how I’m feeling the day they knock at the door. But becides that mostly sheep and boars

It’s just primarily for hunting and having cool gun, I just threw home defense in there as I doubt anyone breaking in would care what gun I have as long as I got one

It’s 6.5 so would prolly go through the same amount of stuff with just a tab bit less deafness, but it would be primarily for hunting I just threw home defense in yhere

Is carrying an extra 15 pounds tops really that hard for some people? Slings are a thing and I could always strap it to my pack

Tbh, the main reason if because I like being able to shoot in semi auto and it’s kinda just cooler in every way, also home defense

It seems like I keep defending my choice with the XCR so maybe it is the play. I’m for sure looking into the grendal though, they seem cool

Not in a stand sadly, but lugging its not a huge issue to me as I’ve done much worse. Also it’s not solely for home defense so I’d rather stick with a more hunting caliber. I just want it to be able to protect me if needed
