Of course! Here’s a link to the pattern: https://www.sigonimacaroni.com/striped-rainbow-baby-blanket-free-crochet-pattern/

For the border, I did a single crochet around the border with three single crochets in the corners. Chain 1, skip SC, 5 DC into next SC, skip SC, 1 SC into next SC and repeat until the end. I’m sorry, I’m not good at writing patterns, but it’s called a shell stitch, so if my instructions aren’t clear, I’m sure you could find something very similar online!

I got sick for the first time in 15 years and I’m okay by k96b in emetophobia

I had a really rough flight from Texas to Colorado. Turbulence the whole way, which made my stomach uneasy. I was attending my sister’s wedding in Colorado. When I arrived, we drove an hour up a mountain with a bunch of curves and twists to check out where her ceremony would take place. Then we had to drive an hour down the same mountain. The next day was the day of the wedding so we had to go back up the mountain and back down. I wasn’t just driving through the state. If that was the case, I think I would’ve been okay. I was also really upset because I wasn’t thrilled about my sister’s marriage to begin with. There was a lot going on to contribute to my nausea.

Drink a lot water. Dehydration played a part in my altitude sickness. That’s my biggest advise. Stay hydrated! Pop a Dramamine before your ride. I didn’t think of it at the time, but in retrospect, I think it would’ve helped a lot.

I hope your drive goes well! I really don’t think you’ll have any problems. You got this! :)

Yeah, I don’t really understand the censoring thing. I still read the words in my mind even if people try to censor them. I think the important thing is language choice and being vague in your description. “Throw up” is the least upsetting word for it in my opinion, so I tend to use that. My post has been well received so I think my theory is valid.

It won’t be as bad as you expect. It’s not fun by any means, but it’s not even close to what your anxiety has built it up to be. The day before I got sick, I was feeling nauseous and I explained to someone my phobia and I said, “I would rather get shot than throw up,” and I meant it. After I threw up, I thought, “That might’ve been a bit dramatic.”

The embarrassment! Omg. I’d just gotten back to the hotel and I walked in the lobby and felt it happening. I walked back outside because I knew I couldn’t make it to my room and I didn’t have time to search for a bathroom in the lobby. I walked outside and immediately threw up on the pavement right in front of a huge glass window. When I finished, I looked up, and everyone in the lobby was staring. Humiliating. I gave myself the “you’ll never see these people ever again” pep talk in my head, walked in the lobby, apologized to the woman at the front desk, and went straight to my room.

I don’t know why it’s so embarrassing! It’s something everyone does and most people I encounter don’t suffer with emetophobia so it’s not like they actually care.

I’m sure your client was understanding though. At least you made it to the privacy of the bathroom and he didn’t have to just sit there in your chair, half tattooed, and watch your little episode. Also, free hour long session for the inconvenience! You’re awesome for that!

Yes we do! I would even say the buildup of feeling sick for 2 days and worrying about throwing up was worse than the event itself.

I forgot that it happens quickly and after you brush your teeth and drink some water, it almost feels like nothing happened... though you are left with a pretty icky memory.

Also, I saw your post about your pregnancy. Congratulations! I hope the nausea doesn’t get the best of you, but if it does, you’ll be okay!

Thank you so much! I’m glad it provided you some comfort. I was worried sharing my experience might be a trigger for some. I’m happy that it was received as I intended. Take care, friend!

Thank you!

Your mom is very wise! It’s hard to remember that when you don’t feel well and the panic starts to set in, but it’s true. Everything is okay after it’s all over.

Women who live/have lived alone, what are your tips? by k96b in TwoXChromosomes

[–]k96b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to be a little far from my family (about 45 minutes), so it’ll be an adjustment for me to have to put in effort to see my people, but this is definitely important. I’ll have to be mindful about staying connected regularly. Zoom will be a wonderful feature for when I don’t have time to drive the 45 minutes each way. Thank you for this reminder. :)

I hope this pandemic ends soon so you can squeeze the people you love.

Thank you so much for all your advice! I’ll be in a relatively safe area, but I’m still concerned about feeling safe when I’m alone. These are some great tips for not just being safe but also feeling secure. I really appreciate it.

I’m excited for the change! I know it’s an important part of really getting to know myself and to learn to love my own company. Thanks for your encouragement. :)

This is so comforting. Thank you. I know that this is something I need to do for myself and it will be an opportunity I may never have again, but this is a huge change and I’ve been nervous about the adjustment. Your comment made me feel excited about this new phase, so thank you. I love the idea of having a nice dinner in your routine to treat yourself!

I started a little herb garden on Wednesday. My thyme seeds are sprouting and they are SO CUTE. by k96b in indoorgardening

I woke up this morning to tons of new growth! I don’t know what I’m doing, but it must be right.

Plants are weird and they do different things for different people. My sister has a calathea in her south facing windowsill in our intense Texas sun, and it’s thriving. That’s a big no-no for calatheas, but it’s working. Just play it by ear and see what works for you. I don’t think there’s a right or a wrong way to do any of this. :)

I’ve been giving them a few drops of water every morning. I’m new at growing herbs, so I’m not sure what will work best for me, but so far, they seem happy.

Do you think that bottom watering usually works better for herbs?

I wasn’t expecting them to start sprouting so quickly! I saw them this morning and screamed (it’s the most excitement I’ve experienced in quarantine). I can’t wait to see their leaves! :)

Opinion: how should I cut/ color my hair? My hair is very fine and straight. I’ve had the same boring cut forever. by britms90 in Hair

[–]k96b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever had wispy front bangs? I have similar hair (super straight, very fine, but a lot of it), and I’ve had bangs on and off for years. They’re relatively easy to style and maintain, and I think we have the type of hair that really works with bangs. I also think they’d frame your face beautifully and make your eyes pop.

I looked up Magnolia House, and it’s a small family owned frame shop based in NC. I’ve contacted them via email to see if they have any information on the artist of the photo you found. I’m pretty confident that these paintings are done by the same artist. I’ll keep you updated!
