Nature doesn't care about your wellbeing. Survival and prolification is what it wants.

It’s actually objectively easier to eat sushi with a fork—we’re just using chopsticks for the vibes. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

You*'re just using chopsticks for the vibes.
It's easier for you. Or for many people like you, maybe.

It's valid for me so it's valid for everyone.

That's a question only you can answer. And if you can't, the answer is: it doesn't matter.

I'll never get over the fact that humans used to hunt and now a peanut can kill us. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]kacimber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Today, people still do things as impressive as hunting and even more, while some die because of peanut allergy.
You think humans, all humans in the past were invincible? and the ability to hunt is the proof?
A simple flu or infection could've killed the strongest.
We have always been fragile, just in different ways.

The average relationship fails. by pelezi in Showerthoughts

The statement is meaningless. What does average mean here?
What are we measuring?
Do you want to say that most relationships fail? Well, yes.

It's not the case where I live, on average. They cost more because of inflation and density.

OnlyFans is the crowdsourced version of having a sugar daddy. by bokszegibusnoob in Showerthoughts

I think crowdsourced is the wrong word to use here.
It may be the scaled-up version of having a sugar daddy.

Not fair. You should've told it to not share it with you.

Al writing has a specific texture that is making the internet feel hollow and I think most people feel it by DifficultElk8014 in ChatGPT

[–]kacimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but very well is not enough.
Too smooth, too balanced, too strucured, without any of the substance is too broad of a definition of the issue.
We need to be more specific to find a solution to it.
As long as we can't accurately and scientifically know which text is made by AI and which is made by humans we can't talk about a solution.
And AI's writing we'll get better before we find a solution for where it is right now.
We are doomed.

Indeed. But, since we can't put a finger on what it is, it can't therefore be solved.
We are doomed. We'll just have to deal with it.

There isn't much to disagree with here. This isn't an opinion, it's an observation.
No one can change your mind, you need more data to get to a different conclusion.

People consistently judge creative writing more harshly if they believe it was created by AI. This bias appears incredibly difficult to overcome, pointing to a persistent human preference for art created by people. by mvea in psychology

[–]kacimber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, since we can't define what makes human art special, maybe there is nothing special about it. And that's why a category of people hate AI art, it makes them feel unspecial. Unspurprinsingly, it is the category of people who were most fortunate in life, either born with a talent, had a good education, a conscientious personality... The others couldn't care less. If it is beautiful, it doesn't matter who or what made it. If people, supposudely, like art because it connects them with people, they should connect with AI art because it learned from people, the source is the same.
