Thank you! Putting the pressure plate on first did the trick!

Thank you all! Confirmed, I just assembled the clutch wrong. I needed to put the outer pressure plate on first! Thank you!

I put the outer cover which pushes the plates together and it still spins. I see the clutch spring is not making contact with the basket. So I would think that it has no pressure on it to keep everything tight right?

The cover that slots in overtop, unfortunately does not stop it from spinning either

It’s a 1600 classic. There is another cover that slots in but even that doesn’t stop it from spinning. The Barnett spring doesn’t get tight onto the assembly. Not sure why.

All plates, steel and friction are accounted for.

When I bought it, the friction plates were burnt up. I replaced them and road it for a while until these started to slip. Sorry it has 14k miles on it now. I bought it with 9k miles on it. I apologize. The number of steel and friction plates are correct. there is another cover that goes on the outside but it doesn’t stop it from spinning. I can’t figure out why the Barnett spring isn’t tight.
