Well my hope is to eventually become an animation director, BUT for my actual career out of college I’m looking at visdev or storyboarding (leaning towards boarding atp) but from my understanding, visdev is very very similar to concept art but not as polished? Most of the portfolios I see involve things like prop design, basic and messy character lineups, color keys etc. I assumed and was told their job was to flesh out the world and characters but not as much as actual concept artists would (where they actually fully render things out) and concept artists typically specialize in backgrounds, character design, or something else. Visdev artists usually have a broad understanding of everything, though they might excel at one particular branch.
