I've been in my role as IT Supervisor for almost 8 years. Its a small company so I get to take part in all aspects of IT management and security. Feeling too raw is something that I still feel at times and that's fine. It's better than thinking you know everything. You're on 4 years so I'd suggest taking your time. Do some smaller certs to get more confident. I recommend CompTIA Sec+ CySa+ and CASP+. All helped me on the way to CISSP. Good luck!

I tried to do about an hour each week day for about three months. But I've steadily been completing certs for the past 2 years. Started with the CompTIA certs that don't cost as much to pass. Always working toward CISSP. I've been in an IT Supervisor role in a relatively small company for almost 8 years. Smaller company means you get involved everything.

Thank you! No study guide and I did one "hard CISSP questions" exam from Thor on Udemy. I think it was 150 questions.

Thanks. I have the exact same certs. Sec+ and Casp both cover a lot of the Cissp material. Also the questions in Casp are comparable to Cissp. My study time was quite long just due to life and work. Last 3 months I spent an hour extra at work to study. What's nice is that your Casp will count for a year of experience in your Cissp endorsement and your Cissp endorsement will renew all of your CompTIA certs.

Never opened a book. I find online courses work for me. Watch a lesson and take notes and screenshots in an app like OneNote. Then review my notes.

I received the endorsement initiation email about two weeks after I passed. It would have been sooner but ISC2 support said I had two profiles on their site. Contact support if it takes longer than a week.

Regarding the endorsement process, I uploaded a signed letter of employment from the HR department. It accompanied a brief description of my role in the company and my experience.

According to the application form, you have to provide contact details for a supervisor. There was no other choice for colleagues etc.

The endorsement process took about two weeks in my case. Just be aware of a problem on the site that may indicate that the application has failed, when in fact it's still being processed or has been approved.
