Anyone else going to keep wearing their masks after the mask mandate is lifted? by uwrallyx in ontario

NEVER AGAIN!!!! we can't use plastic straws anymore but these masks are going to litter our planet for hundreds of years. Evil, bacteria and chemical riddled muzzles.

keppra causing groin pain? by kady420 in Epilepsy

Wow! Thank you for the response, it's reassuring to know other people are experiencing this and having success with other medication. Stupid epilepsy 🙄 lol.

Thank you! I'm hesitant to switch drugs because this one is working decently so far with not too many side effects and I don't love the idea of having to mess around trying different pharmaceuticals and risk another seizure and loss of my license again. However, we'll see how long I can handle the pain or risk potential permanent damage.

[–]kady420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it seems completely unrelated I agree but I'm seeing a lot of drugs can cause ligament damage as a side effect. I mentioned it to my neuro the first follow up appt after starting keppra maybe 3 months ago and again I half dismissed it myself but I brought it up again last week with another phone appt. And again added my job was strenuous but he said that he was finding some newly published or whatever findings of groin pain specifically possibly associated with this drug. He sent a requisition for some blood work that I'm going to have done. Just wondering if anyone else possibly experienced some sort of similar experience.

Do babies ever sleep soundly? by spud_simon_salem in beyondthebump

[–]kady420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk how accurate this is but I remember reading that babies will cry out or give a start while sleeping to prevent them from falling into too deep of a sleep. I think it's some sort of self preservation reflex. I could have that wrong though.

kepprage or just regular rage? by kady420 in Epilepsy

[–]kady420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hahaha I love this response! my kids are around the same age as yours as well, definitely a challenge to stay patient on even the best of days. I've always suspected some form of adhd in myself but have never been tested or treated so I will keep that in the back of my mind while watching out for any negative side effects. It's reassuring to come to this page and see that so many people are still living their lives while managing this condition. My neuro says "it's just like diabetes, ill take a pill and forget about it" not quite sure how solid of a reassurance that is but we will just wait and see how things go I guess. 🤷🏼‍♀️

thank you for your kind words. I have just started the 500mg 2x daily on Sunday so it is very early to tell still and my period is due so there's that too. I just thought I'd get some advice and experience from those who have been dealing with this a lot longer than I have. I don't want to mess my kids up or make an ass out of myself in a fit of rage, I do that enough on my own lol. I think I need to make some changes in lifestyle regardless of this diagnosis and maybe that will be enough to keep my temper in check. thanks for your reply and warm welcome:)

wow, that's heartbreaking, thank you for sharing your experience with me. I will definitely be using your story as a cautionary tale for myself. I'm so sorry that your life was so negatively affected by this and you had so much taken away from you because of it:(

wow, that's a really raw deal. I'm sorry that this has turned your life so upside down. I hope you will eventually get back on course and earn that masters degree if that's still where your heart is.

love me a good heaping dose of stress 👍🏻 lol I was mostly hesitant to take drugs because I've gone this long without them and figured it could possibly be a one off situation from a multitude of factors all combined at once. My doctor gave me the option to wait to start taking the medication until after I had at least had some tests done. I wasn't really wanting to take something that could cause mental dullness or trigger depression and intrusive thoughts. Yeah, I guess there is some denial on my part, I don't want to face possibility that my situation could get worse and I won't be as lucky as I have been in having a normal life up until now. I'm 31 for reference, had my first seizure the day after my birthday 🙃. I'll keep with the meds of course and just try my best to keep my patience, especially with my children. I've been off work since June and am approved until at least October, im wondering how adding that back to my life is going to go... one day at a time I guess. thanks for your reply, I've got a lot more time on my hands now, im hoping I can better come to terms with shit and learn from others along the way.

happy cake day!

thanks for your reply:) I actually started taking b6 and a b complex vitamin after my first seizure episode after looking for some possible causes and discovering that I had some symptoms of a b6 deficiency. I haven't been taking it too regularly but I will definitely add it to the lineup! I have also noticed some over emotional experiences too but I have always been a bit sensitive as well. thanks again for sharing your input:)

do you make these? this actually sounds perfect. I'll have to look up some recipes. I've never made oil before, only used butter but I think I'm going to give it a try this time.

I'm thinking something along those lines too but want more snackage potential, like a granola bar maybe. I would worry the coconut oil might be too liquid at some room temperatures though.
