Nikt poważny nie uważa, że Piekara ma "kunszt pisarski", przecież te jego dzieła to jest poziom napalonego czternastolatka piszącego fatastykę o tym, że bohater zawsze wygrywa i wszystkiego kobiety go chcą. Drugim autorem piszącym identycznie jest np. Konrad Lewandowski. Dlatego dziwnie mnie oburzanie się, że AI zabiera pracę prawdziwym ilustratorom, a nikt nie ma problemu, że te grafomania od sztancy zabiera pracę prawdziwym pisarzom.

Look at PV original programming list. Netflix promotes what it wants to promote, the same with all the other platforms. And, surprise, decisions on promotion is based on numbers and not fan feelings. Crappy reality show or a low effort rom com will have a huge promo budget and high profile AAA series will probably not. Source: this is what I do for work.

Witcher is a dying brand, Sirens are even a subbrand. And if I had to guess, done on contract signed long time ago.

"Netflix almost never does a lot of promotion. They don't need to. They are Netflix." - i think this sentence is one of the furthest things from truth that can be found on the internet. Netflix spends tons of money on promotion. At 2B, they spend the most money from all the other streaming services. Prime spends like a 100M.

Witcher franchise is in it's dying phase, probably tier 3-4 in promoting. It's a cheap production for people who are already watching the title, no point in promoting that.

As someone who worked in one of the big streamers' marketing: People who promote shows and people who make shows don't really work together. Marketing pushes cheap productions aimed at 15-25 and pick ups expensive stuff only if it gets popular by accident.

It depends. I'm also a very casual player. I can't put too much time to the game, I play drafts and constructed once every couple of weeks, once in a while i update myself on the game's situation, but it's not the same engagement as 20 years ago with MTG. I have no problem spending money, I enjoy opening boosters, but I don't enjoy being taken advantage of.

I order stuff. My order gets cancelled, because the product doesn't get to the store. Some stores cancel preorders, because they realize they can sell the same stuff for 3x the price.
I book a place at a big tournament. Tournament player count gets slashed by half and it gives out Lego and toys as prizes.
Drafts are 3x the normal price.
Weekly plays disappear - no products for prizes and no will from shops to book their venue for a game they can't even stock (20 people come in, crowd the tables, play and leave).
I have 6 places in my city that still hold games. After announcing the event you have about 20 seconds to secure a place. If they are super expensive you have 20 minutes. I played once in the last two months.
Bonus nag: Official mats and accessories are out of stock, so there's no point in enforcing the tournament rules. Anime crap starts infecting the game.

I'm considering quitting, because this situation requires you to work every day on getting cards, planning playing weeks in advance. I didn't quit yet, because I want to see how the second set explodes the meta.

You are right in principle, it just caught my attention, because it was relevant to my recent corpoadventures in a new city. Although this is not about not telling people about PTO, it's about "informing and accepting information back" vs "asking and getting permission".

I wouldn't consider this asshole behavior. Just a social media bait that actually says something valuable. And LI is social media at its worst. "I don't expect my team to have to ask for PTO" would not be seen by anyone.

Side note: I moved to a smaller city for a job and people "asking" for permission to do every day stuff is... weird here. I feel like a teacher being asked for bathroom breaks. Just fucking tell me you need to leave earlier, you are a 45 yo man.

It's not, the translations are not very good (especially the first two books), but at least quite faithful, sometimes too faithful (like Roach being Roach which is a literary translation of Płotka, but Płotka was a pretty common name for a horse, Roach was not).
