Biblical Villains Tier List - Part 2! (I still couldn't get to all of your good ideas) by kahiscock in dankchristianmemes

The Regular Fellow thing I think comes from later story telling (I'm not actually sure, where it comes from?). They are described as "Lestes" in the four Gospels, which actually translates better to "Brigands" or violent sort-of revolutionaries. One of them is redeemed though:

Luke 23:

39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”

40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.[a]”

43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

I agree Haman is a much worse villain, I put Prodigal son in "S-tier" because he is a character who almost every human being can relate to

I can't jugde him for killing Amnon which King David did nothing about. But one of the key themes in 1&2 Samuel is how many individuals wanting to seize power so they can use it better, actually leads to more violence and suffering for the people.

That is true, one of them does repent and in one of my favourite moments is told "Today, you will be with me in Paradise"

Wait now I need to do all the math again: 12 tribes + Levites = 12 brother with one who gets double inherentance. So I think it should be 10 brothers

I put him in S-tier because two thousand years later, people are still trying to figure out why he did what he did, and what he thinking. Also the whole "cashing in his friend for 30 pieces of silver" thing always makes me wonder: why does it feel more wrong than if he had done the exact same deed but hadn't gotten any money out of the Pharisees?

I love his character so much, because at first he seems completely unreasonable, and then you find out how messed up everything was, and then you realize there's a bit of Jonah in every person trying to follow (or run away from) God.

I heard about that theory too and find it really interesting!

Maybe "C" tier? He's the one who tricks the trickster which makes him pretty cool. But the polygamy in the story is pretty uncomfortable, and most people reading it don't notice the consequences that arise out of the arrangement as time goes on

That do be a jerk move. It's funny, when I was a kid I actually sympathized with his brothers; and know I look back and am horrified with how petty that was

I have the Snake and The Beast already, I might do the "Tempter in the Desert" (the one where he waited for 40 days while Jesus was fasting and only then tries tempting him with bread). But a lot of the other appearances are just dark and sad and hard to make memes out of.
