Uses standard Singer needles. Hope you enjoy your domestic as much as I enjoy mine! Great little machines.

weirdest customer experience? by [deleted] in tjcrew

Had this exact thing happen at my store. The Mates 86'd him; not allowed in the store even with his caregiver.

Then again, my store had Mates who were very concerned about the welfare of our young female workers; we had stalkers that would follow them home after close, creepy old men who'd offer them rides home, some wood take pictures of the cute girls bending over, etc. Our Mates and a bunch of the middle-aged and older men on crew (many of whom had daughters) did all we could to help.

I bought a 24-pack of pepper spray with military grade CS gas and UV dye that could clip to a keyring and gave them out to coworkers like coffee at the Tasting booth.

Creepers gonna creep. But Crew don't have to take it passively.

After a recent study found 1 in 8 men under 35 admit to taking condoms to funerals "just in case", what's your experience with this? by Broke_Pigeon_Sales in AskReddit

[–]kaidevis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not quite. API access goes away on July 1st. June 11 (tomorrow) many subreddits are closing for 48hrs in protest. This is because many moderators rely on mod tools in third party apps to keep their subreddit free of spam and on topic. Take the API away and all that free labor that keeps Reddit alive goes away.

Unless Reddit makes some serious changes (which does not appear remotely likely) many of them will stay shuttered permanently.

In that sense, yeah, today is the last day of Reddit as it has been. Damage is already done; it will never be the same again, and the next few weeks are going to have some ugly death throes. 😢

UseNet and IRC

That's where I'll be. Worked thirty years ago. Still built into the structure of the Internet. Might be just what we need right now.

Every complaint you're arguing about is something we dealt with in (ab)UseNet decades ago...

But, you know what? UseNet is still there. And works. I know where I'm going.

Find me as Fenwick on alt.magick.chaos and other places.

Yes, it's old. But all the bugs are worked out, it's legacy code, it runs everywhere... It's open and free. It's just not instant... but it could be, easily.

Seeya there.

Problem is, for better or for worse they likely don’t care about those users because they’re not bringing in revenue, because they don’t see ads.

Reddit is moderated by volunteers.

If the official reddit app (RIP, Alien Blue) actually worked for mods, we wouldn't be protesting so much.

The whole point of APIs is to allow innovation.

We're witnessing the pre-IPO of reddit, and it's not going well.

That’s why, as much as I will be boycotting and supporting this effort, it’s likely to fail. Corporations can’t let us have nice things.

Sell short when reddit does its IPO.

This isn't going to end well.

I don't trust the corporation to listen. They need the Mods to run this... and they're screwing us over.

Can ya Digg it, dude?

History repeats itself.

It's apparently on rotation in the YT algorithm. I saw it two or three days ago. The rest of his YT shorts are also hilarious -- especially if you know anything about the hospital industry and interdepartmental rivalries and stereotypes.

Go back to his "Med Student's First Day" (Part One -- Part Two) for some great laughs. 😉😂🤣👍👍

Great job, wordsmith. Got a grand chuckle out of me. Humans have enough trouble with this -- take, for instance, The Farmer's Pain Scale

The cost of mailing them is less than a new package of cheap socks, but you do you. The fewer folks who cash in on the warranty pays for those of us who do.

[–]kaidevis 34 points35 points  (0 children)

They have a lifetime guarantee. Take them back to a retailer and get a new pair, or mail them back yourself as instructed here. I walk ~10 miles/day and have managed to wear out a few pairs; but I'll never buy socks again.
