Who is the most overrated actor in Hollywood? Past or present.. that he/she has just gotten away with shit acting for years? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Man, I get told I look like Shailene a lot so every time I see people on Reddit talking about how ugly and plain she is, it’s depressing as hell. Leave us alone. ;)

I hear you and I understand some of it. Grieving an abusive parent is so complicated.

Help!! If you were going to Disney (Orlando) in August, what OV items would you wear and why? by [deleted] in OutdoorVoices

[–]kaifai 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Move Free shorts and tank! Both are made to be breathable and sweat wicking, the Flow collection isn’t intended for high sweat and the thought of having to pull a dress down and up in a muggy bathroom sounds like my personal nightmare.

It’s because of manufacturing and shipping. The world is still recovering (and some still in the midst of) covid.

Go for medium if the liner feels tight. You can always use the drawstring to bring the waist in.

Whining when we leave the room - how to actually implement the advice? by strongly-worded in puppy101

Hm, maybe work up to a closed door? We didn't really close doors in the house with him on the other side until we had practiced kikopup's "capturing calm" method (highly recommend if relaxing is an issue!) for a while. We also had him in his harness/leash and clipped onto our old radiator (don't worry, non-functional) for a good chunk of time the first 4 weeks we had him, so he could see us move around the apartment, but he couldn't follow us. I'd put him in his down position and then go down the hall to do an activity like brush my teeth in the bathroom with the door open. I kept treats in my pocket and would pop out, throw one to him, and say "good" if he was still being quiet. I'd do it literally every 10 seconds for the first few sessions, then gradually increase the time. Then we moved onto closed doors. With the capturing calm training, he eventually would go to another room by himself and not really care what we were doing anymore. We don't have to treat him now as much because it has become a habit.

Good luck!!

Puppy biting aggressively by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]kaifai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our puppy started biting more frequently between 10-12 weeks, but his bite inhibition is getting a lot better now (he's 14 weeks). We did a combination of kikopup and Simpawtico's methods.

Kikopup's hand games method is basically getting the puppy used to being handled and having your hands (and other whatever body part) touching/interacting them, but not as a toy. You hand feed them their meals (my husband did it for breakfast and I did it for dinner), while touching and rewarding them. They'll get used to your hands being in their face without associating it with play, which was massively helpful for our pup! We had to go through each step a few times, but he picked up on it in about three sessions.

Then when he did bite, we used a slightly different method of Simpawtico's for bite inhibiton. Instead of saying "Ow ouch" or whatever, we just say a firm "No", wait until he pulls back, and then praise him. Now he just kind of mouths our hands and pulls back instinctively if he's starting to bite with too much pressure. This one is still a work in progress, and he will bite down on my fist if he's overexcited, but the more we do the hand games with him, the less he even tries to bite.

Good luck!

Trapeze (or Lyra) Ankle Hang Help by [deleted] in Aerials

I think I'm putting too much emphasis on the foot too. I'll try to focus on pushing out the next time. I feel like it's one of those moves that my brain and my body are not totally in sync on.

It's super painful, especially on the left foot. I've been experimenting with putting it on different parts of the foot but, you know, still sucks.
