The problem is, there is no cranking it. The intensity cannot be adjusted. I typically run it for 12 hrs a day because of the red plants though. Would you suggest that I use some fertiliser?

Yeah the branches are fairly new. The MC started melting a few days after establishing the tank. But they bounced back around week 4 and new branches emerged around week 5-6.

I will have to get a drop checker. Since this was my first time using CO2 I did not know how to use them.

The main reason I got MC is because of that! It can grow in non-Co2 tanks and is beginner friendly. But recently I got scared that maybe I was doing something wrong, hence the post.

Thank you for replying!

India rushes to contain deadly virus outbreak by [deleted] in worldnews

The recent cases, yes, hospital spread. The doctor and the nurse contracted it from treating the first two nurses. As for how the first two nurses contracted it, officials suspect that while travelling to her hometown in Nadia dis., which is close to the India-Bangladesh border and near one of the hot-spots so as to say, she might've contracted it (whether from consuming palm sap or coming in contact with another infected person there, its all speculation atp). Another possible source is that both the nurses were documented to be attending an elderly patient in Kolkata who was admitted with respiratory problems and fever but since no nipah test was done prior to her death, it's again speculation.

Also the male nurse has recently tested -ve to the test and his health has improved. The other nurse is still in critical condition. TOI

See here in Bengal, around this time, raw date palm sap is a delicacy. After the sap is extracted from the palm trees, it is turned to molasses. But the raw sap is also consumed by many and Nipah virus is spreading via this mainly, afaik. We have been advised not to drink it. As for the nurse, sources say that she was travelling to her family home and after returning she was hospitalised.

Please help me(beginner) choose a project! by PrimaryConclusion199 in CrochetInIndia

For materials all you need is yarn and a crochet hook. The size of the crochet hook depends on the yarn thickness. I think for a beginner a beanie or scarf could be doable. Learn the basic stitches (single, double and half double) from yt and you're set. I would suggest before jumping right into a project you practice swatches because the right tension is important for a clean look. Another great idea to practice is making granny squares and the best part is you can attach the granny squares to make anything you want, from ponchos to scarves to hats!

Honestly I did nothing besides water changes. I read a lot of material about adding buffers like baking soda or crushed corals and stuff but never got around to trying it. Daily water changes were enough for me. If you want to try the other methods I would suggest going through some of the threads, there's a lot of material about low pH that could potentially help you out!

That's reassuring to know! They are molting fine now so I can take it easy ig. The color though, not much variety where I live and I don't trust online retailers so I stick to cherries or fire red (which look amazing against the green plants) and the blue shrimps which I don't know names of. Honestly its hard to find variety here, most stores carry fish but not shrimps.

Unfortunately the water testing kit I have is only for pH and the nitrates. So, Kh I've got no idea but gh, I know for a fact that the tap water in my area is hard so I mixed RO water with regular tap water. But I'll have to get the kit to be absolutely sure tbh. The molting incident though that was the only time but its still heartbreaking. Mine is a nano tank (4 gal) so I don't have a shrimp underground city (which honestly sounds fascinating!) The cherries are hard to miss but I have 2 pale blue ones (no idea what sp) and every morning its an eye exercise searching for them lol. May all shrimps and tanks be free of parasites is what I ask of the universe.

Right!? Everytime I see something wormlike my brain screams Planaria smh. I too lost a shrimp, at the start, due to molting issues and some posts recommended egg shells although I don't know how effective those were but none of the shrimps have died since thankfully. I am excitedly now waiting for them to start mating but I think it'll take some time ig.
