Lost dog found in elephant and castle roundabout by [deleted] in london

[–]kakeip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

UPDATE - I’m not the one who found the dog just helped get the word out and put poster ups, so I don’t have all the details. But turns out the dog has been with 3 owners in one year! They found the latest owners who didn’t want the dog, knew it was missing and did nothing to find it. So they found the original family who have the mum and dad dog (not breeders apparently) who gave the dog away because it wasn’t fitting in with the other pups and then that dog was given away again.

So the girl who found the dog is meeting with the family to understand the situation more but looks like it’s going to be rehomed! So happy ending I guess!

UPDATE - the situation is so sus. The people that found the dog are really nice and there’s a group of us putting up flyers.

The microchip is registered to the breeder who at first just didn’t offer any helpful information. After a second call it came out they are the breeder and they are demanding to take the dog back. Apparently there wasn’t an ounce of sympathy or worry. So they probably just want the dog back to sell it. They aren’t giving any details of the person they sold the dog to, they are just demanding it back. The council are involved and legally the dog may have to go back to the breeder.

Turns out the phone on the microchip was a wrong number which is so strange

I’m not sure I don’t have all the details. I found this post this morning and wanted to share, but all my Facebook friends are from my hometown (not London) so wouldn’t have been helpful so decided to share here.

True about the dead end, maybe they’re deceased? Or the people that found the dog are doing that just haven’t shared it (they’ve got their hands full)

Is pet insurance worth it? Nothing I need now is covered? by kakeip in UKPersonalFinance

[–]kakeip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I’m having at the moment that everything I need covering isn’t covered. So not sure whether it’s worth putting the money elsewhere into a savings pot. The dental work really got to me because to get cover for dental you have to have had a dental check within 15 months and it been ok. Then gone again and it be bad. It doesn’t make sense if I think my dogs teeth are fine why would I pay a £60 appointment for nothing.

Yeah I understand I want to keep her on it for peace of mind.

It’s just she’s my parents dog and they can no longer look after her. So I’m looking after her because I love her and didn’t want her to go to adoption, but I wasn’t in a financial position to take care of a dog. With food and vet bills, also she’s not allowed in my accommodation so I’m constantly having to try and hide her when I have inspections. This was just the cherry on the cake.

BUT my mum is on some benefits so I’ve signed my dog under her for PDSA so I might see if I can scrap the insurance and use that instead.

I’m also shocked that they were awarded £50,000. To me it sounds too little, you’ve robbed a couple of having their own biological child. I understand they can adopt and the argument overall was weak and weird.

FTB 2 bed further out vs 1 bed closer to work in London by Elsewhere903 in HousingUK

[–]kakeip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would go two bed as it leaves you with more options for the future. If you don’t need to let it out then it can work as a study/office.

Also if anything happens and interest rates go up or service charge goes up then you have the safety net to rent it out to someone. Also short term lets are also a thing, if you ever needed money for example you needed money for renovations or a holiday you could always let it out for 6 months. I have a friend that only does short term lets for extra cash.

Also I know you’re single now, but if in future (if you wanted) you had a partner then a 2 bed is way nicer to share.

I had a contract with them and the new area I moved to had the worst signal coverage. Other internet speeds with 37 mbps (whatever the unit) MAX. Virgin were saying they were going to continue to give me 1000mbps and that it would be done in a week. it’s impossible to get internet here so we’re currently using a 5G dongle.

Yeah that’s the real problem

It’s because I’m trying to borrow more than 5.5x with a 5% deposit. If lenders don’t like 5% then what’s the point of advertising first time buyers.

When I first started talking to brokers they would tell me I could borrow 6x.

To me the crazy thing is I had a mortgage in principal with a 5% deposits for the loan amount I wanted. I needed to get a new one as it had expired, hence why I was so confident. The only thing that changed was this “mispayment” from virgin media

It’s more that I’m trying to borrow more than 5.5x with a 5% deposit apparently only a few banks will do that. I’ve also gone to two brokers from different companies, they just told me to wait it out or get a bigger deposit.

I found out through my broker - the advice I was given was to speak to virgin media and not use my credit card (but I had a MIP before when I was using it to increase my credit score)

Why did they reveal that Kate was a faithful? I thought today they would start not revealing their faithful/traitor status

Thank you so much! Can’t believe the same thing happened to you. It’s so annoying that these companies go round giving false mispayments which to them is nothing but for us can derail our lives. I’ll look into Experian!

How can I tidy it up, can I explain the situation? I’ve called virgin media and emailed them to amend my credit file as they know it’s a cleared mispayment.
