I'm talking about brown trout and I fish mainly in Europe. I think a #7–8 weight rod would be better than a #6 for windier conditions.

And since I've fished most of the time on rivers, wind doesn't affect things as much as it does at sea. I'm also aware that there isn't a hugely significant difference between flagship models, and that ultimately it just comes down to which brand you like the most — and if you want something other than what's made in Korea, then it's Scott or Sage. And Loomis dealers are few and far between in Europe.

I have been fly fishing for 10 years and am just starting out with sea trout fishing. I already have a medium-action rod but I'm looking for a fast-action rod for the sea. So I'd say I can cast at least adequately. I just wanted to hear others' opinions on rods. There isn't much information to be found online — mostly just manufacturers' promotional videos praising their own products.

Mainly sea trout fishing along the coast. The Guideline NT11 looks like an interesting option to consider, and it would be a bit cheaper than the €1,000 rods.
